I really was surprised at all the good ratings for this episode. Does anyone else find Stevie intolerable? I know I do. I didn't like her on "Detention Election" considering she made the episode significantly worse, and things were no different here.

The only "eventful" thing you can take from this episode is that Stevie is a wizard as well, something I rolled my eyes at upon viewing. Also I can finally say that Harper is the most annoying character on television, she almost ruins the entire episode at times.

Selena Gomez is holding this show together, and her back is definitely breaking with the rest of the cast being unlikable, and the story lines being incredibly far fetched. Poor episode tonight.moreless
  • This episode is very surprising.

I was very amazed and surprised that Stewie is using wand in lunch cafeteria and Stewie is a brand new wizard! Well... maybe Stewie is a part of anti-wizard. And that great thing to do for Wizards of Waverly Place episodes. I want Stewie will be always new best friend with Alex and Harper in "Wizards of Waverly Place Season 4" because it's going to be very awesome. And I loved "Third Wheel" episode because "Third Wheel" episode is VERY special and best. And here's the AWESOME news that I'm totally surprised is... i saw "The Good, The Bad, and The Alex" official trailer in Disney Channel commercial. This official trailer is TOTALLY awesome and amazing. Yay! I can't wait to watch that on Friday.moreless
  • Another Alex?!

Okay, for some people, this was a pretty good episode, but I do have a lot of doubts, particularly about the character Stevie. Alex and Stevie have too much in common, and I think there is room for only one "Alex" in the show. Alex is a unique individual, and I just don't like her being put into that kind of general "bad girl" status. Plus, it totally throws off Alex's other relationships with people, which are supposed to be polar and complex. You see, the way Alex and Harper's relationship works is that they are both opposite (Positive & Negetive). They complete one another by forming a "paradox", where their opposite personalities bring out the best in eachother (which I'm really glad was revolved in "Third Wheel"). The same thing goes for Alex's relationship with Justin. That was what I actually liked most about the episode. I don't really care if we found out that Stevie is a wizard, but I liked the way Stevie tried to stop the heated arguement between Justin and Alex. I guess even though that's how Alex and Justin connect, they do go a little too far sometimes. And I think Stevie was a good friend by pointing that out to Alex, who always needs a little boost with her common sense. But despite this, I still feel more connected with Alex and Harper's friendship. Opposites just attract.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • In this episode, it is learned that Justin has a negative reaction to rock music. However, in previous episodes, he was a big fan of a heavy metal band called "Tears of Blood".

    • Spells Featured:
"Take away all this meat, ax, and nazz, turn this noise into smooth jazz" - Turns rock music into smooth jazz.
"Simplify your mind, leave that thought behind" - Erases the last few moments of one's memory.

    • This is actually the first episode where nobody from main cast used any magic.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Justin: I'm pulling the plug on this.
      Alex: No, you're not.
Justin: Yes, I am! Because I'm the president!
Alex: Well, you may be president of this school, but I'm president of getting things I want, and I want this!
Justin: Not everything's always about you, Alex!
Alex: Yes, it is! I'm the one who got you to wear a suit and carry a cookbook around! It was a joke, and so are you!

    • Justin: Alex! You tricked me, didn't you? This band isn't gonna play smooth jazz.
Alex: Oh, no, no, come on, they are totally jazzy. You're gonna love them.
Justin: Alex, no smooth jazz band brings an oil drum filled with soupy, junky goo.
Lead Guitarist: Listen up! There's a lot of kids here, so for this gig only, we're not gonna light our hair on fire.

  • NOTES (2)

    • (after Stevie walks across the lunch table)
Justin: What are you doing? This is a cafeteria, not a high school musical!

High School Musical is a popular Disney Channel Original Movie.

    • Alex, Stevie, and Harper like a band called "UGHH". The band is a spoof on the real-life rock band, GWAR. Many allusions include the band's eccentric, monstrous-looking costumes and obscene lyrics. Even the thing with throwing guts at the audience is a spoof on GWAR's popular gimmick of throwing strange fluids at the audience.
