Wizards of Waverly Place

Season 3 Episode 5

Night at the Lazerama

Aired Friday 8:30 PM Nov 06, 2009 on Disney Channel

  • Trivia

    • When Alex came to the museum to help Justin, how did she know where to find the secret button that opens up the display case?

    • It seems very unlikely that Justin would go hunting monsters without so much as a mobile phone on him, in case he got trapped or was in danger.

    • Plastic is once again shown to be a weakness to magic, as Justin fails to use magic to break through the apparent plastic wall display.

    • Spells Featured:
The Picture This Spell: "Please please, tell me now, is there something I should know, Duranium, Duranium" - shows something you might want to know in a picture frame.
"Scrubby dubby, into the tubby" - turns someone into a washing machine.
"Argile bobby, tube knee high, into socks, turn this guy" - turns someone into a pair of socks.

    • When Justin sits on the styrofoam boulder after losing Juliet, it collapses. But the first time Juliet and Justin entered the exhibit, Justin sat on the same styrofoam boulder, and it didn't break.

  • Quotes

    • Alex: Well, you know what they say. When you love somebody, set them free. And if they really love you, they'll come back.
Justin: (depressed) Not unless they're a mind slave to a mummy.

    • (after Conscience leaves with Harper)
Jerry: Don't you know that if Max and Conscience are separated for too long, then Conscience will become a person of his own and never go back to Max?
Alex: And probably the reason I don't know that is because people keep interrupting me while I'm trying to study. I bet you something like that is on the next page. (turns the page) Yep, there it is. (panicking) Okay, I'll fix it!

    • Alex: I've been thinking...
Harper: Well, thanks for the heads up, see ya! (tries to run away)

    • Juliet: Justin, I know it's right, I'm just afraid I'll never see you again.
Justin: Yes, you will. This won't be forever. I tracked this joker down once and I'll do it again. You're my vampire.
Juliet: (emotionally) And you're my wizard.

    • Alex: Guys. What is with all the noise? It's the middle of the night!
Conscience: (while sitting on Max's lap) Shhh! We're studying!
Alex: Oh really? I thought you were doing a ventriloquist act with two dummies.

    • Alex: That conscience can ruin my chance of being the family wizard.
Harper: Do you know what else can ruin your chance? A little disease you have call laziness.
Alex: I'm not lazy. I'm just resting up for my 30s. Yep, got a lot planned.
(burps and walks away as she drinks milk)

  • Notes

    • There is a relatively long period of time between when the Mummy releases Juliet, and when he enslaves her, enough time for her to Eskimo kiss Justin. Why did she not use this time to do something beneficial like escape?

    • In this episode, Harper mentions her crush on "Jeremy from Science". This was actually Officer Goblin's cover name in Harper Knows when Harper met him before she even knew about the magical world. Even though she currently knows about the magical world, Harper seems to have forgotten that Jeremy was actually a goblin.

    • It is said here that vampires can't survive in sunlight, though Juliet has been out in sunlight before and never got as much as a sunburn.

It could be noted that Juliet has stuck to the shadows of buildings so she was not in contact with direct sunlight. As mentioned by Harper, she could have only gone out on cloudy days. And possibly, Juliet may have recently inherited the weakness to sunlight, just as her fangs have now fully grown in.

    • This episode is the third and last part of "The Chronicles of Moises: Voice of Reason" trilogy.

  • Allusions

    • The Lazerama term is a reference to the interactive lazer tag game from the 80's, in which the players wore sensor vests and gear, similar in look to Justin's Monster-hunting vest and gear.

    • Episode Title: Night At The The Lazerama

This is an allusion to the well-known movie starring Ben Stiller, Night At The Museum, where different exhibits at a mueum come to life after dark.
