  • Good show at first, later it was worse.

    5.0
Wizards of Waverly Place is about a half Mexican and half Italian family called the Russo's who are wizards. There are three wizards: Alex, Justin, and Max. They are practicing to become a better wizard who is taught by their father, Jerry. Theresa is the mom and Harper is Alex's best friend. It takes place in New York City. Alex is the main character; she's lazy, funny, and mischievous too. Alex, Justin, and Max are competing the wizard completion, which determines who will become the family wizard. Each episode they get into a crazy situation, which is usually caused by Alex. This show is similar to "Hannah Montana" (Todd J. Greenwald was the writer/executive producer before he created Wizards), "Harry Potter", and' Sabrina the Teenage Witch". It's one of those shows that started out good, then later it gets worse. Season 1 was great, Season 2 was bad, Season 3 was worse, and Season 4 was the worst.

Pros: Some creativity is good; okay plots; amazing actors; special effects are some good morals

Cons: Not focused in real teen issues like school; characters get annoying in later seasons; later episodes are lame; later seasons have horrible plots; lose creativity

Overall, it's an okay Disney Channel series, the other older ones. This show used to be awesome, but it just sucks once you grow up.
  • Terrible pile of rubbish that children should not be exposed

I'm sure that some people will down-vote this review because many (mostly impressionalbe young kids) seem to like this show for some reason. Yet, looking at the reviews and ratings, a lot of people seem to agree with me. Clearly many people think that the show started out okay but quickly deteriorated into

I liked this show when it first started. I also liked Selena Gomez with her chubby cheeks and cute hair. Unfortunately neither lasted very

The show started out somewhat amusing but eventually deteriorated into a ridiculous and offensive series of absurd scenarios and unfunny

The jokes are not funny because they are all bad, pathetic

The absurd scenarios are all extremely force and contrived and unbelievable (even for a fantasy show). The family is always somehow responsible for saving the world as though there is something special about them (which has been repeatedly established is not the case because there are plenty of other often include flat out offensive scenarios in which the Russos (Alex specifically) do things that are basically crimes against

One example is when Alex "outsmarted" the dragon seller by switching their dog with that of another person at that the dog-show. Excuse me? In what universe is she a hero? She just kidnapped someone's dog! Did it not occur to her that the person might be heart-broken and crushed that their pet has vanished? Of course not; she only thinks about

Another example was when . turns Jenny Majorhealey from a 16-year-old girl into a a 40-year-old woman. First of all, where and how was she living for the past few months? Second, did it not occur to the writers that this is a stupid plot? Did they not think that Jenny's parents would have freaked out and searched the city for their missing daughter? Did they not think that this "innocent and funny" plot point is actually an Amber Alert and the stuff of Law and Order?

Another example is when Harper threw a slumber-part for girl-Max and had a bunch of girls from his school over. Magic went awry and the girls were turned into old men. What was the Russos' solution? To turn the girls into (talking) fruits! If that wasn't bad enough, Jerry actually had the audacity to indicate that he wanted to eat them! Excuse me? Are they actually condoning murder? Did it not occur to them that when a bunch of children suddenly go missing, there will be a search and big police hunt for them? Did it not occur to them that they will obviously first check the last place (the Russo residence) that the girls were known to be? Idiotic!

There have been numerous occasions in which they have actually killed someone or something, but because they usually do it in some stupid cutesy way with spell like turning them into stone and breaking it, or shrinking them and stomping on them, etc. it is somehow considered acceptable and a non-issue that they just took a

The writing is abhorrent. The show is clearly geared toward a teenage demographic, yet the spells and puns are extremely trite and the kind that only a three-year-old would find funny. All the plots are so contrived it is embarrassing; the projector is encased in a protective shield for no reason? Yeah, right. It became clear early on in the show that Alex would be the center of the show, but unlike switching the focus from Bart to Homer on The Simpsons, this was a poor choice. Every episode focuses on Alex in a ridiculous and annoyingly unrealistic way. It's not a surprise that they let Alex be the family wizard even though she by no means deserves it (or is qualified for it). That is just two more reasons that the show sucks so much: (1) it is extremely predictable, and (2) it sends bad messages like being studious and good are bad and make you lose, while being rude and irresponsible are "cool" and make you

Alex Russo is one of the most horrible characters in the history of television. To say that she is a bad role model is a compliment. She is rude, obnoxious, irresponsible, smarmy, lazy, selfish, self-centered, uneducated; illiterate; and stupid, unreliable, smug, arrogant, bossy, pushy, a bully, an underachiever, a cheater, and a liar, and does the bare minimum to get other to forgiver her until the next time she does something bad. For example, she purposely sabotaged Justin and Harper's friendship for her own selfish benefit. Another example is when she turned Justin and Zeke into puppets against their wills, again for her own selfish benefit. There is nothing redeeming about her and that she has been made the center of the show only serves to drag the whole program down. Impressionable children should not be exposed to her. Unfortunately the stupid writers keep making her out to be "cool" as though being bad is a good thing, which just makes the show all the more inappropriate, especially for impressionable young

In Alex vs. Alex (surprise, surprise, it is all about the crappiest Russo), Alex flat out admits to grand theft auto. In what world is stealing someone's car acceptable? This is supposed to be a Disney show for impressionable young children, not Shameless. David Henry did not even bother to appear in the (hopefully last ever)

As for Selena, like I said, I did like her at the beginning until I started noticing just how bad Alex was getting. Worse, her off-screen life got to be annoying too. She is extremely over-exposed and as overrated as Justin

At this point, it is incredibly irritating to watch Wizards or to see

Some people may complain that I used some "big" words that they don't understand. Well you don't have to be old or read a million books to know words; you just have to not be as stupid as Alex

Anyway, the show is over now (permanently, so stop begging for it to stay on), so we can all be forever done it with and everything to do with it. Good

  • It was good, then it went downhill.

    3.5
I loved Wizards of Waverly Place, when it 1st came out all the way until the movie in December of 2009. After the movie, this show went downhill. I mean the plot got complicated, all these new people and characters were added like Alex's werewolf boyfriend. The jokes became lame, they just lost there wizardy feel. It was great but then it went downhill.
  • One of Disney Channel's finest.

    9.5
This is a great show for the whole family. A show about three wizards in training dealing with common life issues in the mortal world. Alex is such a fun character because she is so funny. Selena Gomez really brings life to the character and it takes real talent to make an apathetic, micheivious troublemaker so charming and likable. Justin is the mature, responsible older brother who is kind of nerd, but tries hard to be cool. And Max is the hilarious, naive little brother whose always doing odd and random things. They live with their former-wizard dad, Jerry and their mortal mom, Theresa on Waverly Place. The children must have a wizard competition when they are older to see who will become the family wizard. Now, I know the concept is not very original, I mean 'magical people in the mortal world tying to keep their life a secret' thing has been done several times before. I know I've seen it. But this show gets by with it's great acting and original humor. The characters are interesting. The storylines are simple but effective and very well-written. So I think it's obvious why it won that Emmy. I enjoy this show so much that it bugs me that a lot of people say things about it like 'It's a ripoff of Harry Potter'; Yeah, I've heared that before. It's a show about wizards!!!... That's it; there is nothing that says that J.K. Rowling has any rights to be the only person to write about magic! The whole 'Wiz-Tech' thing is just a parody, everything else is just a coensidence that some people seem to overlook. Oh, I suppose just because Phineas and Ferb has some cultural refernces makes it a ripoff of family guy too. Hello, haven't you heared of the lawsuit Hannah Montana went though because somebody had already written a simulair story for a show? That's another thing, the people who make this show know how to make it fun and charming for people of all ages if they give it a chance. Hannah Montana is just overrated and makes itself look rediculous for an adult to watch, let alone any person in general who just sick of the franchise. At least the characters mature gracefully and realisticly in this show, and I can still have a good laugh. I'm not just a Wizards fan, I just know good kid's television. ;)
  • One of Disneys best shows!

    10
This show is really good and im pretty suprised of some of the reviews! So this show is about Wizards Alex,Justin and max who train to become the best wizard but get caught up in many problems along the way. I really like this show and im suprised that many people think this show is boring! Its really good(my opnion) if i had to choose a favorite charecter it has to be Max! he NEVER fails to make me smile or laugh! I like Alex she can be selfish but deep(REALLY deep) she is actually nice,Justin is cool i like how his charecter is maturing in this season and hes becoming cooler(and cuter:P) All the charecters are good(i like them all) the comedy is really good and the writing is creative and all the actors are very good!!
  • Good Show

    9.0
Good show I guess, I watch it regulary except it's not my favorite, but totally unrealistic, I mean there's no such thing as wizards, and you have to no that, but all in all it's good a nice show to watch to kill some time if you want to.
  • Needed work.

    2.5
At first I thought WOWP was a good show, but the more I started to watch it, the more I started to hate it. The main problem with this show is it's main repetitiveness and a ripoff of a good Harry Potter novel/movie (even though the later movies suck). The characters aren't the problem, but it's weak premeise.

    Characters:

Alex Russo is by far, not the worst in WOWP, but in the history of television EVER. She does not deserve her powers, or deserve to be the family wizard. Just because she helped Justin for the first time ever, doesn't mean she deserves it. She's rude, replusive, lazy, spoiled and is a bad role model to kids everywhere. She always wants things her way like when she hired that meat throwing band to play at her school just to see Justin get upset. She abuses magic too her fullest extent, only for Justin to bail her out. She deliberately disobeys her dad and does a banned spell and ends up with her and Harper sharing the same brain.

Justin Russo is the nerdy older brother, who is a straight A student, doesn't abuse magic and is the complete opposite of her sister. He deserves his powers and, in my opinion, should have kept his mouth shut and become the family wizard. He is one of the characters that is tolerable and actually is a good role model.

Max Russo is the youngest and the official moron of the show. If he kept his powers, the world would have been in danger. While he's not as bad as Alex, he gets dumber as the series progresses, and serves no purpose whatsoever. Jake T. Austin tries too hard for the role of Max, who is usually forgotten by is parents.

Harper Fickle is the human friend of Alex. Why she's even friends with a loser who takes advantage of her, I'll never know. She used to have a crazy crush on Justin. Harper, like Justin is anthor tolerable character in the show. There's nothing much to say about her, other than the fact that's wears wierd clothes at times.

Jerry Russo is the father who gave up his powers to marry his wife. He occasinally tutors them in wizardry, by teaching them new spells which is a mistake, as Alex always uses the spell and gets her self in trouble. He can be annoying at times and I feel that his actor tries too hard.

Theresa Russo is the human mom and another ok character. She usually says she hates magic as some random shit always happens like her lamp gets broken by Max.

    Plot/Realism

There is no realism (duh), so I won't judge that. The plot is like Hannah Montana, They have to hide the fact that they're wizards and then do a family compititon in which Justin deserved to win. As weak as it sounds, It gets worse. Remember how I said it was a mistake for Alex to learn spells? In the first and second seasons, After Jerry teachs them a spell, Alex will find some bogus reason to do the spell and then gets herself in trouble. This happens all the time in the first two seasons, which added to the repetitiveness of the show.

    Jokes:

The jokes, like all disney sitcoms, are the same old reused ones over and over, like the "it's not raisians, it's poop" joke. That laugh track returns which makes no sense in an fantasy show, which just had to be a comedy.

    Acting:

The acting is okay, but I feel that some try too hard, like Jerry Russo's actor.

    Overall:

WOWP was not that good. Only three of the characters are good, but they couldn't save the show even if they tried, which is why I gave it a two instead of the usual one I give Disney's crap shows. This is just a sad ripoff of Harry Potter turned into a comedy. The big difference is that at least Harry is likeable, while Alex should just lose her powers and live a bad life and die the b*tch she always was. By now, iCarly's suddenly not so bad....... KIDDING! I hope.......

  • january 2013 announcement!! :)

  • Absolutly great show!

    9.4
This show is about of a Family of wizards that live in waverly place, but go to work, and school in real life, and i try not to get caught doing magic. I really enjoy watching this show, because i am a huge Harry Potter fan, so this is just like watching a real life family that has magical powers. It is also not that farfetched and pretty easy to follow, and understand whats going on in the show, when in some shows, i cannot understand whats going on. It is an underappreciated show, that not many people watch. I think everyone should check this show out, if they like Harry Potter!!
  • I don't care how many thumbs down I get, this show needs to be canceled before it gets any more senseless.

    1.0

Okay, how origional, the entire family is either a witch/wizard and has to keep it a secret from the world! HA! how origional! insert the plot with Superheros, mermaids, aleins, Mythical creatures, ect, ect, list goes on.

What I don't get about it is, it's not even about wizardry anymore, it's about 'angels'....Sorry, did I miss something? Going from The mysterious world of Witching and Wizardry to...holy Angels? What? The writers couldn't have gotten more lazy, if you ask me.

One of the reons I dislike this show is because of - you guessed it - Selena Gomez.

Disney makes her out to be more than she is. "Oh, she's so perfect and generous, and origional! What a great role model!"

Uhh...no. She's actually a self-centered witch who leeches off of others' fame, stepping on others to bring herself up.

Do you honestly think she'd be so 'charitable and loving' if she weren't working for disney? NO. She does it to improve her image, to make herself look better for public, to gain Publicity.

Anyways, enough bashing Selena Gomez, time to focous on the bad acting.

Okay, did the diretors intentionally make the characters one-dimentional-boobs? The acting is so bad, that it's depressing.

Anyways, because I'm too lazy and tired (i's 2:00 am)to actually write anything else of relevence to anything, I'm wrapping it up.

Don't watch this, if you havn't already. Save yourself from the idiocy that s disney. D:

  • Impressive combination of "Harry Potter" & "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch"

    10
The show "Wizards of Waverly Place" is an amazing combination of both "Harry Potter" and "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

  • is it true or rumor

    7.0
Dose any one know if that's true or not i hope it's not a rumor because i would like to see more of Wizards of Waverly Place and i hope all get to see more of Mason i really like Mason i thought Mason maid the show a whole lot better if any one as any more in formation please let me know right away ..
  • Um... NO.

    10
This show is way too OVERRATED. First of all, a family of wizards -- I don't think so. Selena Gomez is charming, but this show is an epic failure. Unfunny, bad acting all around, SO BORING. The only reason I'm giving it a 5 is because the only episodes I liked were the ones with Bridgit Mendler. The best DC series' were That's So Raven and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.... The only good show right now is Good Luck Charlie hands down.
  • boring

    1.0
    boring its says that
  • One of Disney's funnest shows

    8.0
Awesome! The funnest Disney show ever, alongside That's So Raven.

    1. The spells and characters reacting to them are hilarious!

    2. The characters are really nice and have a lovely relationship (ok, Alex and Justin fight all the time, but that's what siblings do and they are shown to like each other).

    3. Interesting plots and many really funny lines.
  • Its a show that copies so much from HP

    9.0
Wizards of Waverly Place is a show that I have mixed feelings about. What I absolutely hate about this show is the content they copy off Harry Potter. Its a complete disgust to do that. The characters are full of flaws and there isn't much to like about them. They can get annoying and those recurring characters and one time characters also get on your nerve. The comedy in this show is re-used again and again mainly with Alex insulting Justin.

Alex Russo- She is such a snobby character. Too lazy and always uses her magic recklessly. She often treats her ONLY friend like a slave and to me cannot ever be likeable.

Justin Russo- Despite being the better role model, he too can often get annoying

Max Russo- The one I like the most in this show. Apart from him, its all downhill

This show is also a complete copy of HARRY POTTER AND SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH. It also makes magic from Harry Potter look "pathetic" using technological magic.

    Copies HP

    1) Dumbledore and Crumbs (seriously this character is just ***ed and tries to make Dumbledore a joke)

    2) Love beating evil (Saving WIztech part 2)

    3) Dark angels=death eaters

    4) Good angels=order of the phoenix

    5) Gorog=Voldemort

There is SO MUCH MORE copying as well than just this. Overall, it was okay in Season 1 and a bit of 2 but after that it was downhill with WAY too much copying.

  • Pretty Funny!

    8.3
Ok, well i think its a great show, especially cuz selena gomez in it. Thats the main reason i watch it. I love her and she's cute. Anywayz, i like the show. It's funny, better than most of the shows on disney channel anyway. I like how alex always gets in trouble and disobeys and how they make fun of justin. Max is ok and the dad is funny too. But the mom isnt that funny, and neither is harper. the characters are ok, but some could do better. I can say this is better than harry potter cuz harry potter sucks, at least to me. The episodes are kinda ok. There can be some improvment, but w.e
  • Since it's ending and I've watched every episode it's time to review

    6.0
I give this show a solid 6. I mean back in 2007 it was REALLY bad and SUPER cheesy. In late 2008-early 2010 it was actually really good. Now in 2011-2012, it SUCKS. It really does. There's super cheesy effects and the dramatic moments are always ruined by stupid jokes. I just want this off air now. I really wanted to like it, I really did and I sort of do. I mean I'll watch the old episodes if there's nothing else to watch, but watching reruns of S1 is PAINFUL. It's a love-hate show, there's some good episodes and then there's some bad.
  • WOWP? A cliche rip-off of other shows.

    1.5
Wizards of Waverly Place is another of Disney's downfalls since Hannah Montana was introduced. Although Hannah Montana was bad, I would rather watch that than Wizards of Waverly Place. Here are my reasons why:

    Characters:

The characters are one-dimensional people with no personality or a questionable personality.

Alex: As the main character of the show, she is supposed to be a good role model for kids. She is a bad example of a role-model. Alex is a lazy, ungreatful underacheiver who abuses magic to the point where it's uncontrollable and she is proud of this. After Season 2, she slightly changes but still keeps the same personality as always.

Justin: The only good role-model of the show. He is a straight A student who at least sets good values for kids as well as controlling his magic. The only thing about him I don't like is the fact that he doesn't have much of a social life. I understand that education is important to him but still, he needs a bit of fun in his life at some point, right?

Max: The character who is meant to be stupid. Max is the average student. He used to be stupid but funny in the first few seasons but as the seasons went by later, he is at the point where like Cat from Victorious, he doesn't qualify to be stupid anymore.

Thereza: The non-magic user who is the mother of the siblings. She at least tries to do the best she can for the kids but still nags quite a lot which really isn't good.

Jerry: The father of the siblings. He is quite funny at first but also gets to the point where his jokes and personality suffer a huge downfall.

Harper: Alex's best friend. I don't understand how and why she became friends with Alex. She is often being mistreated by Alex and used but she doesn't really take it to heart 99.9% of the time and she does have a weird fashion sense at first.

    The plot:

The plot really isn't that good anymore since it's cliche and you know what'll happen next. The plots suffered a huge downfall in the later seasons.

    The jokes:

As usual, the annoying laugh track is there. There is no point of it as it serves no purpose whatsoever and the jokes are overused and unfunny in later seasons.

    Summary and rating:

The show was alright at first, but it got to the point where it suffered a huge downfall in later seasons. Disney needs to try harder before it loses more viewers because I'm sure their viewers would rather watch something else than waste their time watching Disney's crap.

  • Disney is desperate for ideas at this point

    2.5
Disney just never seems to amaze how desperate they are for a show they deem "original", case in point WOWP. The show is about a family who are wizards, but can never reveal the secret to anyone at all. The premise itself is a blatant rip off of another bad Disney show, Hannah Montana, where is that show, Hannah was secretly a pop singing sensation and in this show, the family is a group of wizards in disguise. You just know a show is going to be bad when the premise rips off another bad TV show on the same channel. The show also has the nerve to be a rip off of my favorite book series, Harry Potter. Some of the spells or places the Russo family goes to are similar to the Harry Potter places or spells. I am surprised that JK Rowling hasn't sued this show yet for plagiarism of her book series. As for the stories, they are very boring. It usually involves the kids getting into trouble and trying to fix it before mom and dad know about it, but usually they find out, kids learn a lesson, and so on. But once in a while, the Russo family goes to a place for wizards only and once again, the kids get in trouble, and you know how the rest goes. There is a story though about the wizards, when one of the children turn 18, only 1 will keep their powers, the others lose them forever. Now that's all good, but the problem lies in how the siblings act. In the three episodes I saw that the siblings always used magic for their own personal gains or revenge against another sibling. They don't care about losing their powers, they think it's OK to abuse their magic and lower their chances of keeping their magic. If anything, ALL the siblings should lose their magic powers since they seem to care nothing about their wizard powers and abuse them constantly. Now I am all for having fun with magic, but if these kids want to keep their magic, they would also need to do things to prove themselves that one of them is the right one in the family to keep the magic, it would be an interesting plot device. Besides, the main plot never seems to move at all. There is no worry from the parents about who will keep their powers and the kids as I said don't seem to care if they lose their powers. The characters are all terrible. While the acting is good and there is passion to it, the characters themselves are just generic and stereotypical. From the mom and dad to the little brother, this show is crawling with stereotypes with little to no characterization at all. There were some funny moments with the magic and the pranks and the genie who was briefly in the show was funny as well. WOWP is just one bad show for many reasons. The plots are boring, the characters are underdeveloped, the humor is barely there, the main story never moves, and it steals from a great book series. Do yourself an enormous favor and go read or watch the Harry Potter series and pass up this magical waste of time.
  • Really good. Sad it ended.

    10
It was so funny1 All the good shows are ending! Only about four good shows running on disney now! Good luck charlie, fish hooks, gravity falls and my babysitters a vampire.
  • i grew up with this hahahah : ))

GREAT SHOW! so sad that it ended, it promoted our humorous side : )
  • What?

    1.0
You call this a show? Of course from the start you can see it's unrealistic. The plots, of course.

These are three wizards kids in training. One episode I knew this show should go straight to Disney Junior. I can't believe they thought that these teenagers would be cool as wizards. First you can see the the mummies, and blah blah blah are unreal. They acting, OH JEEZ! The terrible acting. Selena Gomez can't act AT ALL. I hated her acting. No one else in the cast can act. I can't believe they even released these series from the start.
  • This show is about three wizard kids who always break their parents rules of no magic.

    1.0
This is one of the worst shows I have ever seen. I thought Hannah Montana was crappy until I saw this hunk of junk! First off, it's a rip-off of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Their magic gets them into trouble, they hide their secret from the human realm, and they deal with a lot of normal teenager problems. Seriously, if they took out the other two kids and put in a talking cat, it would be exactly the same! Second off, Alex never learns. She has this addiction to magic and always ends up screwing things up! I give this show an F. Nay! I give it a Super F!
  • Its an ok show

    7.0
Wizards of Waverly Place is a ok show. I pretty much only watch it if there is nothing else on. It is has some good plots and is mildy interesting. Although the show can get annoying. I've seen a couple episodes. Some of the plots are really unrealistic and super fake, not that a show has to be realistic, but still. Alex and Justin can getting annoying and so can the parents. I would have to say Max would be my favorite character. But like I said before, in my opinion, it is only good to watch if there is absolutely nothing else on.
  • one of the best disney show.

    9.3
Honestly, if you compete this with shows like Hannah Montana, Suite Life and Cory in the House, this show rocks. I think Laugh's production has improved tremendously. Their jokes are finally funny. They got really good actors to do diff roles. I like their idea of wizards. But this show i find cannt beat other nick comedies like iCarly, Drake and Josh, Ned's Declassified. However, this show should be really apreciated. its not those kinda junks that disney would produce. What's more i think selena gomez is a wonderful actress and a singer.

overall, i just wanna reccommend this show to all my frens.
  • Good, but also a bit bad-ish

    8.5
I really enjoy WOWP, it's my favorite Disney Channel show ever since they canceled Hannah Montana. The humor is great, the actors are brilliant and the plot altogether is magnificent. They only thing I don't like are the Russo parents. I like them as characters, but the directors don't give them much thought. They deserve to be treated better, but the directors just shut them away, the most attention focuses on kids, which I don't like. And c'mon, this show is MUCH better than A.N.T. Farm, Shake It Up!, Jessie, etc.
  • An Absolute Waste of Time

    1.0
When I was younger, I used to love this show like a bee loves honey. Then I grew up and realized how horrible it was.

First of all, everything was predictable. In the first couple episodes of the show, it was mostly then screwing around with their powers. The scenarios where their powers/wizards were "revealed" were laughable. Like the zombie prom episode. If I heard someone saying there was real zombies, I would NOT go "omfg!!! Zombies?!". I would be saying "lol, real zombies? Yeah right."

Alex is a b*tch. She is in no way deserving of her powers. She's conceited, misuses people and her powers, bossy, whiny, and a shame to girls every where. When she got jealous, she purposely made Mason turn into a werewolf to scare that girl. If this wasn't a Disney show and evem remotely realistic, people would be injured. Including the Russos. She also gets so many attention from boys she undeserving of. I asked a bunch of my guy friends if they would date a girl like Alex and most of them were like "She's hot but I don't want to date a b*tch that treats people like sh*it,". And of course she would win the Family Competition because ever since Selena Gomez started dating Justin Bieber/becoming famous, the show focused mostly on her. Also because of her and Mason's TRU LURV (yeah right).

The whole vampire/werewolf plot was terrible. I mean, yeah they had one werewolf episode before Twilight but when Twilight because popular, I noticed they decided to bring werewolves back in a better way and also include vampires.

The entire show sucks. It had potential to become better but they decided "omg lets make a totes kewl show tats lyk harry potter, twilight, and hannah montana!!! How (un)original!!!".
  • Come on guys this show doesn't ripoff Harry Potter!

    10
I am disappointed in those low life idiots who say this is a ripoff of Harry Potter! First of all! We all know Justin Bieber is a gay person! But you can't say this is a Harry Potter ripoff if you've never seen it and you hate Justin Bieber, so you can't hate Selena Gomez too since she was once dating Justin Bieber. I am a Harry Potter fan! But its more similar to The Fairly OddParents than Harry Potter! They take objects then do spells that they learned from Waverly Place. Alex Russo deserves to keep her powers. They don't say "I wish...". I love the backround music. Trust me, this isn't one of those very bad Disney channel shows like Shake it Up or So Random! You must give this show a chance! Otherwise you have no life. You can't only like the popular cartoons or tv shows and hate the unpopular tv shows or cartoons! Don't even think about thumbing me down! You guys don't even know what this show is! You can't only enjoy teen shows like Drake and Josh (Which I love) Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide (Which I hate). Its canceled which sucks! I already miss this show right now! So I miss all those days when this was airing! Go ahead and thumb me down! I bet this is just as awesome as harry potter! Remember that quote "You can't judge a book by its cover" If you've seen it you can hate it! But your judging this show by its cover only because you think its a harry potter ripoff! Selena Gomez is still good even if she once dated Justin Bieber!
  • My favorite show to ever air on Disney Channel

    10
In my opinion, this is the greatest show to air on Disney Channel, first of all, it feels like Disney with all of the magic and spells and it's also a very funny show. I think Selena Gomez is a such a beautiful actress so she is also the reason why I watch this show. Usually, I don't like characters who are bad but I like Alex.. well.. probably it's because she isn't the baddest character ever. I don't like Justin sometimes though he is funny most of the time. Max is so random that he is hilarious. I like Jerry and I think he is a funny character. Teresa... well... she isn't the funniest character of the show but she works for the show. I like Harper, she is a nice and funny character although sometimes annoying. I don't like Jerry and Teresa because sometimes they could be careless parents. Overall, this is my favorite show ever to air on Disney Channel and I recommend it to everybody. 10/10
