  • Juliet returns and she is in trouble!

    8.5
I'm glad to see that Justin and Juliet are still together. During the Wizards vs. Vampires saga, I could tell that they were going to be inseperatable and we would be seeing her again. However, with Justin taking his monster hunting course a little too seriously, he obliviously makes the mistake of turning in his vampire girlfriend and her vampire parents (who I wish would've returned in this episode) into the Monster Hunter Council! Well I guess with a sweat and pretty girl like Juliet, it's easy to forget that she's actually a monster. Though I could tell that Juliet has been coming more in tune with her vampire heritage (she sucked the jelly out of donuts). Meanwhile, Moises Arias continues to teach Max right from wrong and Theresa is so grateful she calls conscience "the son she doesn't regret having". (I hate it when she plays favorates). When the monster hunters come, Alex comes up with some decoy monsters for them to take, which means the return of Franken-girl and the robot from "Maximan", who sadly end up going to Monster jail. Tired of his mom giving all the credit for his progress to conscience, Max decides to pose himself as the third monster and be taken away, but they end up taking the watermelon with a wig instead. I'm just disappointed that Alex and Justin would've let the monster hunters take Max; what is it with their regret on having Max as a brother? (I'd love to have my own Max). I'm just glad Juliet is save. Although I'm starting to think that this "Voice of Reason" trilogy is more about the monster hunting than it is about Max and Conscience.moreless
  • Uh-oh For Juliet

    7.5
Justin reports of three monsters in New York, and he later realizes he reported Juliet and her parents. Now him and Alex need to come up with a plan to save Juliet from being turned in.

A good episode that makes you want to see how things turn out, and in that aspect, it does a good job. I like how things turn out in the end because I think it was a good way to end this episode. My overall grade though is a B+ or so because I don't like it as much as the others in this "saga"moreless
  • Juliet is back in her first Season 3 appearance!

    10
Three Monsters continues the story from Monster Hunter, following the story of Justin's monster adventures. This time, Justin mistakenly reports his vampire girlfriend and her parents to the monster hunter council. Hilarity ensues, as Justin and his sister must scramble to fix this problem. As much as I love Selena and her character, I like it when Alex takes a back seat every once in a while. Justin seems to be the main focus of this episode, while Alex is the supporting character, making funny snark comments at Justin. We have seen similar episodes, "Beware wolf", and "Wizards vs. Vampires." Bridget Mendler returns as the charming and fanged Juliet; it was great to see her again. Harper seems to be a whole lot less annoying this season. In fact, I don't find her annoying at all anymore. Jennifer Stone has clearly sharpened up her acting skills, and Harper is really funny in this episode. Max and his Conscience return as the comedic duo continue to improve in wizardry. It was funny to see Franken-Girl again, although it was sad to see her go. The writing in this series continues to impress me, with continued story lines, interesting plots, and funnier jokes. This show just gets better and better!moreless

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • The face on the spell dummy is made up of the pieces that make up the face on Mr. Potato Head.

    • Spells Featured:
"Liar, liar, pants on fire"- The ability to set pants on fire.
"I'm rubber, you're glue; take her smell and put it on you"- switches clothes and smell.
"Markers markers, go away, hey"- the ability to make markers disappear.

    • When Justin runs downstairs into the Sub Shop, he runs over to the doors and pulls down the blinds. When the scene changes, one blind is pulled back up, in the next scene, it's down again.

    • If Justin still had the manual with all the monsters in it, he could do a spell like Max did and bring a monster to life. In fact, he could bring two monsters to life to replace the robot, since technically it wouldn't be classified as a monster.

    • How did Justin know, that the Franken-Girl, would be classified as postive in the monster remote? He must have just gotten lucky.

In true Justin fashion he probably read the manual that came with the monster-hunting kit and it addressed home-made monsters

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Max: Look, I'm the third favorite in this house and no one is taking that away from me!

    • Harper: It's sure is quiet in here.
Alex: Yeah. When my dad's out of town, I sometimes forget to put the open sign up.
(looks back for a second and then back at Harper)
Alex: But I'd probably remember around three after everyone out there already had lunch.

    • (Theresa walks downstairs to the living room after Max does a magic spell with his conscience and messes up)
Theresa: Max, how many times have I told you not to do magic in the living room?
Max: As many times as I've done it.
Conscience: I'm sorry. I've been encouraging him to work on his wizards studies.
Theresa: Really? Well that's great. What else have you been doing?
Max: (interrupts while flipping through a book) He's been tricking me into spelling things.
Theresa: (surprised) Wow. You've been helping him with his magic and school work?
Conscience: And-and don't worry. I'll make sure he cleans this mess up.
Theresa: Aw. You're like the son I don't regret having.
      (Theresa starts hugging him)

    • Justin: I kind of wish I had caught three real monsters, though. I would've gotten a trophy. Well, I guess my trophy's right here.
Juliet: Justin, as a woman of the 21st century, do not objectify me. But, as a woman who's been alive for thousands and thousands of years before that... Oh, come here, you.

    • Harper: You smell like vanilla.
Juliet: Yeah. I wear that to disguise the smell of death and decay.

    • Alex: Okay. Look, look, look. My brother majorly messed something up, putting the woman he loves in danger, which doesn't surprise me but curiously affects me because I kind of like this girl, so will everybody just calm down?! Alex Russo is on it.

    • Alex: (laughs) You're awesome.
      Juliet: (laughs) I know.
Alex: And I don't say that to any of my brother's girlfriends. 'Cause they're all monsters. I mean, there was a centaur, a werewolf.
      Juliet: Well, I'm a vampire.
Alex: Yeah, but you have normal feet.
