Episode Summary

EDIT

Alex tries to outdo Justin by giving their dad a Merlin's hat with unlimited wishes for his birthday. When she thinks Jerry's wishes are too simple, she takes matters into her own hands, but is unprepared for the consequences, including a visit from an alien spaceship.

Had some laughs but also quite stupid

I always found the idea of Merlin's hat giving powers to the non-magical quite stupid. I also found the plot of this episode quite stupid, that is more absurd than most plots in WOWP. I also found this episode not a very good Jerry episode for one thing. His feelings toward his family, especially when he's about to give Max away to the aliens, who look just stupid.

One thing I particularly liked about this episode however was Jerry loving Justin's gift and even making use of Alex's gift to make Justin's gift even funnier. However, this episode concerns me about Jerry being a good father, even though it was just supposed to be a joke. I found myself not laughing too much and overall, quite disappointedmoreless

A generally okay episode.

I thought it was an okay episode. The plot had no real point and the whole aliens come to Earth thing has been done to death. This episode also made a statement that said that Jerry really doesn't care about his family. When he was faced with choosing a milk shake machine or his family, he choose the milk shake machine. Also, the main point of this show is magic, yet pretty much no magic was used. All of the magic that was used was from Merlin's hat, which is a pointless use of magic. I only laughed once or twice during this episode and I feel I am being lenient by giving this a 5. This was poor work for Disney, Selena Gomez, David Henrie, and Jake T Austin.moreless
