  • Dr. Evilini....Isn't she a bit too much like Umbridge? YES, SHE IS

    4.0
This episode continues off where the last episode left off...Where was that again?...By copying Harry Potter. Remember? In this episode, we are introduced to Twelve Ball, a game which kind of resembles Quidditch and we are shown that Evilini is evil and that she has held back Crumbs from power...Now didn't the same thing happen in HP 5: Order of the Phoenix, where Umbridge tries to sack Dumbledore. Yes, it did....This is further copy of Harry Potter......

But,that all being said, I kind of liked Max's plot.moreless
  • The acting seemed too fake, but it was an okay episode.

    9.2
In this episode, Alex must save Justin from having his powers drained by the lava mountain! Oh golly! A strange plot already, but the whole hour long episode was overall, pretty good. Based on Hogwarts, but not too dramatically, more like in a joking way. I wish they had picked a denser plot, and maybe a better guest star for the professor person. My favorite character in this episode was that person that's a guest star in every episode, but is always a different character. Do you know who I'm talking about? But in the end of the episode, everything is fine, because Alex uses the "Everyone must speak their mind" spell. This episode, for me is one of those episodes you can only see once, so I don't really suggest you buy it on iTunes, but that's your choice! The End!moreless
  • Again

    7.5
This review will be the same for parts 1 and 2 of this episode.

Justin gets the opportunity to go to wizard school. Alex is forced to go after she uses a spell and makes their house disappear. Justin loves it, but Alex is a slacker. Jerry and Max sleep out on the terrace to prove their manliness. Theresa lets them come in though. Alex figures out that a teacher has an evil plan for whoever wins the 12-Ball tournament and Justin happens to be extremely good. She consults the "principal" who tells her to try and save Justin. The evil teacher wants to drain Justin's powers, but Alex saves him in time. Max fights with "salad girl" in a competition for customers.

This episode was okay. It was really cheesy though. That mailing spell would be useful though. This episode gets a 7.5 out of 10!moreless
  • Will this be the end for... Justin?

    10
Alex and Justin go off to Wizard School. I thought this was a good plot for a first tv movie. Alex is real funny in the tv movie, and when she tells her jokes... she gives a laugh herself. Another funny part was Alex's chuckle, that was pretty funny too. Another thing, I like about the two-parter... was it has two-subplots! One, in which Max's dad and mom and himself must beat a sandwhich lady. Plus the Gold Fish part, on Max and his dads' bet with Theresa was hilarious. That's it for my review of "Wizards of Waverly Place: Wizard School". Peace out.moreless
  • Better than Part 1.

    9.5
Okay, so Alex has to try and save her brother, and there's a happy ending when Alex puts the truth spell on the evil teacher, and she blurts out her plans so that all of the parents can hear. Hooray. Lol. This part was better as it was funnier, more action-packed, and I just generally really liked it. This is probably the best episode of the season. Not much else I can say about the episode. But since I have to make this 100 words, I will comment on how talented the actors in this show are. Fine, I also think Selena Gomez is extremely hot, but they're a great choice of people-I bet they have a lot of fun backstage, and that makes it enjoyable to watch.

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • In this episode, Evilini is shown to have tied up Crumbs to prevent him from intefering with her plans. A very similar thing happened in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix where Umbridge tries to sack Dumbledore, but without success. Also in this episode, Evilini is shown to be a copy of Umbridge, as she is really planning on taking over just like Umbridge did.

    • Goof: Headmaster Crumb's hands were loosely tied up and he could also walk around, therefore he could have still helped Alex.

    • This is the second episode Alex has used the truth spell. The first episode was "Alex's Choice".

    • Goof: When the headmaster casted the truth spell on Alex, the bottom knot was untied. In the next scene it's tied again.

    • Spell(s) Featured:
The Tough It Out Spell. Incantation: Scritty Politty No Quitty.
      Used by:
Dr. Evilini: She used this on Justin to prevent him from backing out of the twelveball tournament and halting Alex's plan to save his powers; first time a character other than the Russo kids has used a spell.

      Returning Spell(s):
The Truth Spell. Incantation: "Some are evil, some are kind, but now all must speak their mind."
      Used by:
Alex: Just as she's ready to give up all hope of stopping Dr. Evilini from draining Justin's powers, she uses this at the last minute, causing everyone to overhear her plan and Dr. Evilini to be escorted away by security.
Headmaster Crumbs: When Alex goes to help Justin, she says she's going to the library, but Crumbs uses this on her to get her to admit she doesn't like "boring" libraries. He almost uses this on her again when she tells him she picked up an "I Lava Volcanoland" T-shirt for him, but she admits to not having done so before he can finish the spell.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Max: (After he falls over in his sandwich costume) Just get me up before the three second rule kicks in!

    • Headmaster: Hey did you get me one of those volcano T-Shirts.
Alex: Yeah, they're going to mail it you.
Headmaster: Some are evil some are kind-
Alex: Okay, no! Next time okay?

    • Dr. Evilini: I need to know who's the most powerful young wizard.

    • Alex: Excuse me, I need to ask some questions about the volcano.
Volcano employee: Fire away! ...We're encouraged to use volcano terminology whenever we can.

    • Max: (in the sandwich suit) How'd you get it to smell like onions?
Teresa: That's you. Jerry, we should have gotten more ventilation holes.
Jerry: That's why we went with Swiss cheese!

    • Evilini: We have a problem. You just heard my plan.
Alex: And I love your plan. I think it would be great to me if Justin wins the tournament and you drain his powers.
      Evilini: How so?
Alex: Because without his powers, there's no way he'll end up being the family wizard -- I will. Of course, there's Max, but he thinks microwave popcorn is magic, so...

    • Headmaster: Well then, perhaps I should stick around and get to know you too. Now what are we talking about?
Alex: Uh, just girl talk... Bras and stuff...
Headmaster: Why uh... I've got to go...

  • NOTES (6)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • In the twelve-ball tournament finals, they refer to hitting the "tattler", earning you an automatic win.

This is a play on Harry Potter; in the wizarding sport Quidditch, catching the snitch will earn you 150 points and an almost automatic win.
