Johnny: Do you know that they are clubbing baby rutabagas for their skins?
Andy: This is the station that has employed Herb Tarlek for the last 16 years. Don't talk to me about integrity!
Andy: Les, your stories always seem to have a kind of a, uh... how shall I put this? Johnny: Barnyard aroma?
Mr. Carlson: (on Les' demand for walls) You know, I think walls would be good for him. Big padded ones, about that thick.
Shooting script dated January 21, 1982.
Bailey: I believe something like this came up at the Washington Post. The Washington Post reporter Bailey and Andy refer to is Janet Cooke, who won awards and acclaim for her story about a seven year-old drug addict. It turned out that she'd invented the story and the child, based on an amalgamation of several stories about children and drugs.
