Started watching episodes again on WGN America although I've watched this show way back when.

This is a hilarious Les episode. It shows how really sensitive is about criticism, on the flip side it shows his lack of a backbone toward combating a situation.

Les who covered the sports stories for the situation has a bad interview with one one of the people he's interviewing. Soon a rumor is started that the athletes think Les is gay.

Les instead of trying to face this head on decides to take a rather cowardly way by deciding his going to kill himself by diving of the WKRP building. and ability to conduct locker room interviews, is on the line when a baseball player accuses him of being gay So he takes to walking the ledge of the Flimm Building.

Only WKRP can take a plot like this and make it funny. Richard Sanders was great as Les, a rather smug nerd, who at times arrogant and superficial and in this episode sensitive to criticism.

It's kind of ironic of course because Les is supposed to be this hard nosed reporter so you'd expect him to not take this gay stuff sitting down. However, that's kind of way Les is. The episode does have a happy ending. The actors were great here. Gordon Jump as Mr. Carlson, Frank Bonner as Herb Tarlek and Loni Anderson as Jennifer.moreless
