  • When Scott and Emma locate jean Grey, they must save her from MRD, a woman who has alerted them about her and Archangel, who has been turned evil by Mister Sinister.moreless

This episode was very, very good as they have included the plot twist of Jean staying alive with amnesia! They try to get back to the X-Mansion, but they are constantly attacked by Archangel (who I call Darkangel, since he's evil).

Meanwhile, Magneto orders the Sentinels to attack Genosha, and Mystique is pretending to be the Senator.

This episode showed Emma's love for Scott and betrayal for Wolverine as she captures Jean Grey at the end.

What I didn't like about the episode was that there was an extremely confusing Archangel storyline. You need to have watched it from the beginning, which I hadn't.

This episode was pretty good overall.moreless
  • You gotta love what they're doing with some of these characters

    9.0
Jean Grey is awake and after an accidental mental explosion, is located by Emma Frost. Cyclops is quick to the scene, but so is Mr. Sinister, who has sent Archangel to retrieve her. I liked the psychic blast that took out everyone within 500 miles. (That's crazy!) and I liked seeing Cyclops kick some more butt this week. I said it before and I'll say it again, this show is at it's best when not trying to force Wolverine into the plot. (They really should think about re-structuring this series for it's second season. It needs to just be X-Men)

It's good to see Jean back, and the story thread resolved, but we got a couple of juicy new plots beginning as a double surprise ending is revealed. Sinister is revealed to be working for Apocalypse (whom we saw in the shadows) and Emma Frost turned on the X-men, delivering Jean to the Hellfire Club! Fans of the comics, rejoicemoreless
  • Jean Grey is finally located as Scott and Emma Frost set out to retrieve her before she is taken by others who are just as interested. All is not what it seems as new players enter the game. This episode sets up the 3 part season finale and is well donemoreless

    9.5
Dealing with mental stress as result of her amnesia Jean lashes out with a telepathic burst allowing Emma to find her using Cerebro. Unfortunately two other factions are aware of this and become involved, putting Scott and Emma up against a former friend.

Scott and Jean become captured and its up to the remaining X-Men to come to their rescue. The team bands together to defeat their foes and return home for what appears to be a happy reunion... that is until one last and new force 'plays their hand'.

Shades of Grey provides some shocking revelations with more to come!moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • According to the pop-up version of this episode, the psychic wave Jean unleashed that knocked out the entire city was a feat greater than Charles Xavier could accomplish, even with his powers amplified by Cerebro.

    • First appearance of the Inner Circle (Sebastian Shaw, Harry Leland, Donald Pierce, Selene) and Apocalypse

  • QUOTES (1)

    • (Cyclops wakes up in Mister Sinister's lab to find himself and Jean strapped to tables)
Mr. Sinister: I have to admit, like everyone else, I did believe Jean had perished. And then you came to me, so convinced that she was still alive that I just had to resume my search.
Cyclops: Sinister, let us go, now!
(Sinister snaps his fingers and pronged pumps appear on either sides of Jean and Cyclops' necks) Don't touch her!
Mr. Sinister: Not to worry. Acquiring genetic material is usually painless.
(The pumps begin extracting Jean and Cyclops' DNA into vials) As donors, you're really quite remarkable. Even Charlies Xavier didn't know what he had with the two of you. Oh, yes, he was aware of your abilities. (He takes the vial with Jean's DNA) But not your genetics. Combined, they will create a force more powerful than the world's ever seen. The secret of mutant evolution. The very future of our kind.
Cyclops: You're insane! We'll stop you! (Sinister takes the vial containing Cyclops' DNA)
Mr. Sinister: I don't doubt you'll try. The problem is (Looks at Jean Grey) she might even succeed. Therefore, I'm left with no choice. (To Archangel) Dispose of them both.
