  • Trivia

    • CBS was scheduled to run this episode the week after "Veda" was aired, but they declined and it finally ran on the Lifetime cable network on September 8, 1995. The reason for this:

At the end of the episode, there is a one minute montage of women being beaten, burned, slashed, strangled, etc., underscored by Willie Nelson singing "You Always Hurt the One You Love." CBS was going to run the episode minus the final scene, but Linda Bloodworth-Thomason thought that the climactic scene was crucial to the storyline, so she went to the Lifetime Cable Network (who has the syndication rights to its' sister series Designing Women) to get this episode aired.

This episode, "The Conjugal Cottage," "North to Alaska," and "Dear Diary" plus a rerun of "Men Are Good," ran on a Friday night that they dubbed "An Evening of Women of the House." Delta Burke, who was on location filming the USA Movie "Maternal Instincts," popped in between episodes as the hostess. Only two episodes ("Men Are Good" and "Women in Film") were aired with the closing credits. Lifetime has rerun these five episodes once to date, but none of the other episodes have been rerun in the USA.
