Women of Wrestling

Show Summary

Women of Wrestling was the third (and some would say the BEST) attempt of David McLane to make women's wrestling a viable show. The wrestling was more in line with what the WWE was showing, and it showed that women WERE able to wrestle without all the stupid T&A and lunatic specialty matches that the WWE had been dishing up. The first episode began with a Battle Royale (a female equivalent to a Battle Royal) for the WOW World Championship, and after the dust cleared, Terri Gold, who had thrown the illegally entered Thug out, won the title! Some of WOW's more famous feuds were Thug and Harley's Angels and Selina Majors (and later on, Caged Heat); Lana Star vs. EVERYONE (but most especially Poison and Ice Cold); Danger vs. Riot; and everyone else after champion Terri Gold. Terri had lost her title to the aforementioned Danger, after she dispatched her main rival, Riot through a table, and then did the same thing to Terri. WOW had a pay-per-view called WOW Unleashed, in which Terri had regained her title, with some dubious help from Riot, who then proceeded to cripple Danger. Sadly though, as it seemed to be with McLane, WOW lasted nary a year. WOW's fans are vocal and faithful! And good news on the horizon. There is a chance WOW may be back with most of the roster intact (at least 50% of the WOW roster WILL return) in 2004!moreless

  • The 3rd and final attempt of GLOW&POWW promoter David Mclaine, this female federartion was similar to GLOW in terms of characters however the wrestling ability was at a much more higher level.moreless

I would definetly like the show to come back for a second season as i felt the show has a lot more to offer, the only few things that i felt let the show was in fact some of the wrestlers themselves, as well as some of the stars ranging at a high level of wrestling skill some looked as if they didnt know a thing or two on how to wrestle, also the gimmicks were kind of cheesy and therefore i felt didnt bring any justice to their characters.moreless
  • My personal favorite is Jungle Grrrl June11, 2006 - Erica Signs with the WWA!Erica sent an email recently that, after some tough negotiations revolving around her traveling expenses, she has signed a contract with the historic World Wrestling Alliancemoreless

Malia Hosaka the women\'s champion back then? Anyway, after dominating women\'s wrestling on the west coast during the first five years of the mellenium, Jungle Grrrl is prepared to unleash her fury on the rest of the world. Several WWA events are currently scheduled in Canada, and we will keep you up to date on any and all events where the Head Huntress will be headlining. The recently re-furbished federation has expressed big plans for online content, television deals and merchandise at their official website, and now that they have premium talent like Jungle Grrrl on the roster they may have the muscle to actually realize their ambition. Join us in congratulating the WWA for securing the services of the greatest female grappler of our times, the legendary Jungle Grrrl!!!! Of course, as always, this website will keep a historical record of all of this woman\'s unparalelled achievements as they transpire. So, as they say, stay tuned!

We know updates have been few and far between, so we feel we owe a little more to Erica\'s fans with this one. So, continuing the trend started by our friend Paliazzar a couple weeks ago, here is another video. You may have seen this one already, but it is from a story on a Los Angeles television station regarding WOW. Erica basically steals this feature from the other girls, but isn\'t that always the case ;) Jungle Grrrl from KTTV in Los Angelesmoreless
  • A good show about women and wrestling.

This is truly a great show. I enjoy watching it over and over and over again. I can watch the same episode 2 or 3 times in a row just so I can catch things that I might have missed. I think I have all of the episodes recorded and I watch them whenever there is nothing good on TV. It is always entertaining to me. I will also have my friends and family watch the episodes with me and try and get them hooked. So far everyone has because it is that good of a show. Look for it on the air or come over to my house and watch my DVD's.moreless
