    The Girl from Ilandia

WW acts as a role model for a little girl with powers not to different from her own. Alan Arbus, another MASH star featuring this week. An awful lot of submarines in Wonder Woman or maybe a lot of stock footage of submarines that the studio likes to use as a cheap option (I swear these clips recurred over 25 years later on The Unit). WW also has knowledge of Ilandia, another lost society like Paradise Island but can't get to it. Wonder Woman in a tube very popular in the conquered-superheroines fetish genre. For once WW fails and isn't able to return Tina to her home but makes her understand to that the important thing is to accept the reality of her situation and make the best of it without ever giving up the dream of returning home one day. If we ever have a new WW series or film I'd love to see an updated version of this ep where 'Tina' does indeed get to return home. Obviously a dream come true for many little girls to not only have their idol of Wonder Woman as a friend but to actually share her abilities, much like the ep where Xena inhabits the young girls body due to Aphrodite's screwed up spell.

  • Touching. Both Tina and WW are alienated.

The two form a bond as outsiders in 1970's America.

Their connection is really quite touching and well acted. There is some fun as well. All that jumping around on the lawn is just a hoot.

WW making references to the fact that she had read about the powers of children like Tina and that she is special parallels Diana's experience with Paradise Island.

The best part is that WW must admit defeat to Tina in being able to get her back to her dimension with the humbling, "I can't, I can't" with Lynda acting beautifully - the tears look real.

I would have loved to see some follow up with the girl in a future episode.

  • A girl of consicerable power arrives from another dimension and Wonder Woman tries her hardest to return the girl to her home.

Haddock works very hard in this episode and does some fine work despite some awkward direction and even more awkward editing. The \"Come, here boy\" scene with Tiger at the beach is borderline creepy as it goes on a good 15 seconds too long. Guardino is strong in his role and Carter also manages some fine moments especially in the scenes with Haddock.

    • Goof: Dr. Bleaker traps Wonder Woman inside a cylinder just in front of the door to his lair. After she escapes from the cylinder, it suddenly disappears from the next shot, where Wonder Woman and Tina fight off Bleaker's goons.

    • When Wonder Woman comes to rescue Tina, Bleaker drops a net and Wonder Woman tells Tina to cross her arms to repel the net but before she does, she runs under the net before crossing her arms. If the net wasn't coming down over her,it seems strange that she would run underneath it.
