For any TV poker tournament, I prefer watching the old-school names over the new internet pros who seem to come out of nowhere then melt back away. The guys who have some personality and the handful of ladies too: Jen Harman etcetera and even "meltdown" Phil Hellmuth in small doses; Devilfish from Europe; Gus Hansen; Daniel Negreanu is fun to watch; Tom Dwan has a good game and is a transition guy from new to more established. I probably respect Phil Ivey's playing style the most as the perfect blend of math and psychology with pure gamesmanship. He's not a bundle of laughs but he gets into those crazy prop bets though.
Daniel's play can annoy me but his table banter makes him a fave anyhow. Guys like Chris "Jesus" Ferguson and Antonio Esfandiari play solid mathematical games but their table style tends to be just low-key. Still I'd rather watch them play than 6-8 fresh internet hopefuls on a given show. Phil Laak & Jennifer Tilly at the same table were fun to watch several times.
Without some player personality there's no good reason for me to watch.
