AIRED:
(11/22/2011) The Mekong is about to be transformed by hydro-electric dams in Laos and Cambodia. The electricity promises development for these poor nations, but could wipe away the livelihoods of millions of peasants and fishermen. Then, farm subsidies have been part of the American landscape for years. Congress is now considering whether to kill the payments, some of which go to gentlemen farmers living big in the big city. Finally, World Report goes to Newfoundland, where moose are on the loose.moreless
