WWE Elimination Chamber 2011

Show Summary

WWE Elimination Chamber 2011 aired live on Pay Per View on February 20, 2011. The event emanated from Oracle Arena, home of the Golden State Warriors, in Oakland, CA. This event was the last monthly pay per view before Wrestlemania and the end of the sports entertainment season. The card set up future encounters for the so-called 'Super Bowl of Wrestling'. The eponymous Elimination Chamber is a six man match set in a unique cage-like structure containing the ring and four pods. Two randomly selected competitors start the match, while the others are trapped in the pods. Throughout the bout, pods unlock, releasing the competitors one by one, and the last person remaining wins. World Heavyweight Champion Edge defended his title in this match type against five Smackdown Superstars early in the night in one of his final PPV appearances. Six Raw Superstars competed in a similar match at the end of the show for a shot at former reality star The Miz and his WWE Title at Wrestlemania. Other matches on the card included a defense of the WWE Tag Team Titles by Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel and Jerry Lawler vs The Miz for the WWE Title.moreless
