  • Raw looks to provide a great back to back show showcasing Bret Hart retaliating against Vince McMahon

    8.0
RAW has definitely improved since the New Year. We're having less comedy bits, less lame Hornswoggle appearances, still a new WWE champion in Sheamus, and the return of Bret "The Hitman" Hart.

The first time Bret appeared on RAW, the E definitely dropped the ball. He hardly appeared on the show, and he wasn't really involved in any story lines. Last week was a much different outcome than January's show.

The Bret and Vince feud is in full swing and now Batista and John Cena are now part of the story. Batista is now one of Vince's goons. He actually eliminated himself in the qualifying match for EC vs. Punk last week. It's been leaked well ahead of Bret's first re-apperance that a Bret Vince match was happening at Wrestlemania but now we have the official verification. Question is now will Cena and Batista be part of that match or have a singles match? Could be very interesting.

Christian vs. Sheamus-Great match, fast paced, quick pinfalls. This was a match that Sheamus needed for credibility. His rise to the title has been less than spectacular, a lot of people think him being a midcard shouldn't be in line for a title run but a lot of midcard guys have gone to the title. However, besides that the opponents that he faced were all weak. Only until he won the title did he actually start facing strong opponents like Cena and Orton. Now he's facing a strong guy in Christian. It was a great match and most importantly Sheamus gets the clean pin.

Triple Threat Match-DX vs. Cm Punk and Luke Gallows vs. The Miz and Big Show-

Another great match and first off meeting with all three teams. Very unpredictable and fun to watch.

Punk and HBK start the match then Big Show and we get a nice confrontation with Luke and HHH. Later the Miz takes a big slam on the outside. Punk and HBK again exchange. Punk gets taken out by Michaels. The end was a bit predictable but finally DX dropped the titles, so HBK can continue his obsession story line with Undertaker.

The confrontation with Cena and Vince was fun as well. Lately, it seemed as if the creative team wants to make Cena a lot more gritter and violent than his recent outing. I like it because the change is necessary. He destroyed Dibiase then gives Vince a verbal lashing about the way he uses wrestles for profit which is always enjoyable.

Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes-An interesting match with several possibilities for a developing story line the breakup of Legacy, or Legacy joining up with Sheamus. Either way, Rhodes gets the victory making him look strong in case Legacy breaks up.

All in all a great RAW. Suddenly the shows leading up the EC have been decent if not great. I am also liking the fact that it's not quite clear who'll win it making it fun for fans to guess who'll win.moreless
