It's been 7 years since he passed, so I ask, when did you start watching a him and when did you become a fan of his?

I started watching him in ECW and became a fan of his in WCW and when he came to the WWE, I was eh and then I liked him with the Latino Heat thing. His matches against Ultimo Dragon, Jericho, Benoit, Malenko and some others were fantastic in WCW.

He'll always be one of the best.

I first saw him wrestle on a Halloween Havoc 1997 video cassette. It was against Rey Mysterio Jr. for the Crusierweight Title.

He was one of the first wrestlers I've watched. Eddie was entertaing for me whether he was a face or a heel. Rest in peace Eddie.

I agree. He was so good as a bad guy sometimes it was hard to boo him and his antics.

I found this on tumblr and had to share.

Man.... when I first saw that episode I didn't know that Eddie died. When Vince announced his death, It really hit me.

Painful memories. Big Show, Rey and Chris Benoit really showed their emotions in that episode.

I had found out after I got home from church and it was all over MSN. I was floored.

Very painful. To this day I can't watch that episode again ever. Not even recaps.

I first became a fan of his in 1999, I LOVED the Filthy Animals stable in WCW. While that stable is my all time favourite, I'm sad to say that I didn't become a massive fan of his until after he died. I stopped watching wrestling in 03 and started again in 06 just after he died, and it was watching his matches when I was older that I realised how magnificent he was. One of the all time greats.

I never became a "fan" of his but I did remember first watching him at a house show in 2004. He faced JBL for the World Heavyweight Title and won it with the help of someone (I can't remember who it was, but if you remember smackdown in the middle of 2004, you'll be able to guess better than I can). I was sad to hear when he passed, and everyday I look back and remember how I wished I had known about him before his death.
