If Michael Cole wins another Slammy, we'll never hear the end of it. As of tonight and Friday night, at least.

Randy Orton is the superstar of the year. If you disagree, you are wrong.

I disagree. It is CM Punk. No doubt about it.

No way. Punk was the superstar of the summer, where he was red hot, but this is the whole year we are talking about.

Orton had a good feud with Punk, before going to Smackdown and having consistently great matches with Christian throughout the spring and summer, before dropping out of the spotlight to elevate other guys. He has had the best year of his career in the ring, he has truly took his game to the next level.

Aside from the angle in the summer, Punk has delivered a great deal of meddling, "insider" based promo nonsense, had some wonderfully passable matches with Alberto Del Rio, and generally been inferior to Randy Orton. I'd give him the number 2 spot in the "superstar of the year" category.

Yeah I agree. CM Punk may have been the hottest thing in the summer but his steam has cooled down considerably since then. Though he is getting some of it back thankfully. I say this was the year for Randy Orton most def, his win loss record is insane and I think may even be better than Cena's, not to mention the awesome matches he's had this year. Superstar of the year goes to Orton while match of the year goes to Cena/Punk at MITB. Let me know how the show turns out, I'm in full out final exam mode right now so said viewing if Slammys will not happen.

I agree that Punk/Cena (from MITB) is the match of the year. The Orton/Christian matches were smoother and more technically sound, but the drama and intensity for Punk/Cena 1 was off the charts. Really elevated it into a modern classic.

I'm not going to lie. I haven't freaked out so hard in a long time than when I saw the fire pyro go off and see Masked Kane (with remix of old music in tow) return! Also, the cover over the mask he first came out with kinda looked light Fulgore's head, which was awesome.

Thank goodness that first mask cover he had on wasn't his permanent one lol. I like his new mask and music! So it looks like Cena will be feuding with Kane for a while. Miz and Alberto del Rio thank him so they won't get buried by Cena.

I love the Orton love in this thread. Orton not winning superstar of the year was a tragedy. Everyone is so hyped up on this new CM Punk, that they forgot who was delivering quality matches night in and night out. Orton was and still is Smackdown. He also makes frequent appearances on Raw. Which other main eventer is doing what he's doing? No one. Orton got snubbed.

I marked for Kane. I watched that part several times. Loved every minute of it.
