World Wrestling Entertainment is less than a month away from airing live its 1,000th episode of Raw. This is beyond a milestone event, as many weekly broadcasts have not achieved that number. To make matters even better, the WWE selected one of the most controversial figures in entertainment.
That man is Charlie Sheen.
Who could forget Sheen's meltdown not long ago? It created such a stir in the world of entertainment and had people talking. The man who claimed he was "winning," could provide a win-win situation for Monday Night Raw in the ratings department.
According to the press release by the WWE, Sheen will serve as the "Celebrity Social Media Ambassador." Throughout the three hours of Raw, Sheen will tweet to his 7.5 million followers and the WWE Universe.
The question that arises for fans: Will the former Two and Half Men and current Anger Management star will get physical in the ring?
One thing for certain that will draw high ratings would be Sheen getting a stunner in the middle of the ring by Steve Austin.
When looking at this press release, Vince McMahon made a smart, risky and high reward decision for the 1,000th episode of Raw by bringing in the highly controversial actor. Sheen was once all over the headline news, which gained him even more fame and followers.
For this special, live three-hour event, Sheen should bring in more non-wrestling fans to watch Raw to see what the actor will do next. Sheen may not be making the biggest headline news as of late, but the WWE is making the move to make this a win-win for both parties.
Early Prediction on the 1,000th Raw Ratings
WWE should enjoy a very huge, successful night. After all, Raw has survived it all. After losing for nearly two consecutive years in the ratings battle to WCW's Nitro, the WWE survived a near company collapse and bought out its toughest competition. Since then, WWE owns a very large chunk of the wrestling industry.
This Raw event should celebrate all of the company's accomplishments and focus on what Raw meant fortelevision. With bringing in Sheen, reunited D-Generation X and more, Raw, in my prediction, should see a very high rating result.
Raw has not been over the 4.0 ratings mark in quite some time.
With this being the 1,000th episode, I believe Raw will get over that 4.0 mark. Despite the WWE having a thin roster these days, the company should see arenaissancein the ratings for one night with the 1,000th episode of Raw.
