The era of THQ wrestling games is over. Sources have indicated to IGN that the WWE game franchise will be sold to Take Two, parent company of 2K. Terms of the sale are unknown at this time, as details have not been finalized. These negotiations appear to have taken place outside THQ's formal auction process.

This news comes as THQ assets have been divided among several different publishers, pending court approval.

For more on WWE games, and THQ's future, stay tuned to IGN - official announcements are expected as soon as tomorrow.

I'm not a Wii/360/PS3 owner, so what does this mean for you all who do?

Hmm...this seems very promising. They do a good bit of free-roam type games which would really help the games.

No, I was being serious. THQ has been around so long, that's why I said what I said.

If they get back with AKI Corporation, now known as syn Sophia, Inc. and Asmik Ace Entertainment again, the possibilities could be endless.

I own stock in THQ. Not much, and it dropped so far so fast that I just held on to it, since it would have cost me more in brokerage fees to sell than I would have made from the sale itself.

I'm not sure, but Koch Media owns the rights now.

I totally forgot to mention Yukes too. They had a hand in some good WWF games.

I only had a hundred dollars invested in it. I wasn't stupid enough to invest more. I took a chance that a bigger company would buy it out before it completely collapsed, but it never happened. Hate to lose the hundred, but it could have been a lot worse.
