  • HHH, Edge, Mysterio take on Straight Edge Society and Chris Jericho in Main Event

    7.5
Very good show considering that they didn't have Cena and Orton in the card.

Just having Undertaker wrestle Jack Swagger is enough to elevate this episode into decent if not the great category.

HHH and Cm Punk promo - Nicely executed. This episode also signaled perhaps a changing of the guard. As Punk said, you might actually see him on Raw since the draft is closing in. It's a possibly.

Confrontation was entertaining. Mysterio comes in and actually shaves off part of Punk's hair an omen for Sunday maybe.

Match #1: Matt Hardy vs Drew McIntyre

    Decent but short.

Match #2: The Undertaker vs Jack Swagger

By far the greatest match of the night. Really strong by Swagger thanks to Undertaker. Undertaker was going to win of course but as Lawler pointed out this was a match to elevate Swagger's reputation that he can compete in a Main Event match against a Main Event superstar. Swagger almost pulls it out but Undertaker takes it. Good if not great match.

Match #3: MacGruber vs Vladimir Kozlov - Pure comedy.

I actually like the MacGruber SNL skits. MacGruber is one of the few SNL that has a big following. Obviously they put Will and Kristen here to promote the movie. I thought they were funny as guest hosts given the fact that they weren't in the show much.

Match #4: Triple H, Edge & Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk, Luke Gallows & Chris Jericho

Smart way to cap off the show. All stars were involved. Strong showing by everyone involved. Decent buildup for Extreme Rules, and we still got another Smackdown taping to come.

Again given the fact that they didn't half of the roster on the show due to the Volcano this was watchable and in certain parts very enjoyable.moreless

The beginning of this show felt very much like the ROH Unscripted events. Wrestlers couldn't make the show, so things were very unpredictable, and different wrestlers got the opportunity to seize the moment. The CM Punk and Triple H exchanges were great and I know they don't like each other in real life, but somewhere down the line I want to see a lengthy program between those two.

The Jack Swagger vs. The Undertaker match was good, and that is another duo I would like to see feud at some point.

I like Will Forte and Kristen Wiig, but they did not work as hosts.moreless
