Unlike last year, both inter-brand matches took place again later in the year, with Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels taking place at Vengeance and Randy Orton vs. Undertaker taking place at SummerSlam, all because of this year's Draft Lottery. In the rematches, the finishes were the opposite of those at WrestleMania, as Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton were victorious.

Only three titles were defended at this event, the lowest number since Wrestlemania 13.

Matt Hardy was supposed to be in the Money in The Bank ladder match, but out of ring troubles with Edge prevented Matt from being in the match, as WWE staff were worried that both men being in the match would result in a real fight. As a result, Kane took Matt's place in the match.

The second Wrestlemania in a row that Triple H lost the World Heavyweight Championship. Last year he lost it to Chris Benoit.

This WrestleMania has the fewest gimmick matches ever, with only the Sumo match and the "money in the bank" ladder match. All other matches were regular one on one matches.

During the "Pipers' Pit" segment, Piper once refers to the WWE as the "WWF", and no, it was no accident...

First Wrestlemania appearence by Edge since Wrestlemania X8. He had missed XIX and XX due to injuries.

Motorhead play Triple H to the ring for the second time at Wrestlemania (the first was at Wrestlemania X-7), this also marks the second time Hunter has been given a live performance of his theme music during a main event (Wrestlemania X-8)

There was an inter-brand Battle Royal(which Booker T won) done before Wrestlemania went on the air. It is on the Wrestlemania DVD.

Edge becomes 4-0, the best record next to the Undertaker.

First Wrestlemania to never feature a Tag Team match.

This is the fifth Wrestlemania that Triple H has headlined. The others were Wrestlemania XVI (aka 2000), Wrestlemania X8, Wrestlemania XIX and Wrestlemania XX.

This Wrestlemania marks Triple H's tenth straight appearance. His first was Wrestlemania XII on March 31, 1996 against The Ultimate Warrior.
