  • Matt hardy defeated MVp in a match that took up about half of smackdown. Duece and eugene match ended in a no contest. Jimmy wang yang got crusghed by the great khali, chuck pulumbo beat Kenny Dyksra Major bros defeated hometown heroes.moreless

Another great night of smackdwon. We already have an idea of what will happen at the bash as far as smackdown goes. Matt hardy beat MVp in an hour long battle, putting him in contendership for the US title. kane as we know, will face edge for the world heavyweight titlte, as Theodore Long announced. Kane then sent a message to kane, by being on the cutting edge, and attacking edge after the insults edge said to him. Khali defeated Jimmy Wang Yang in less then a minute. Khali also took out a man backstae, and Eugene and Duece. He sent out an open challenge for the bash, and it was answered by the animal Batista. Finley defeated Ric Flair, in a battle between two dirty wrestlers. Finlay was the better man, fololowing up with the sheleigh when the referee was distracted by hornschwoggle, then used the celtic knot to make ric flair submit. Kenny dykstra and Chuck Palumbo made debuts agianst each other, and Palumbpo was able to get the win, although noth men looked very impressive. The major brothers also beat locals. It may have been a small start, but surly they will owrk there way up in contendership for the tag team title.moreless
  • Matt Hardy def. MVP. Finlay def. Flair. Kane on cutting edge, named #1 contender. Rey Promotion on returning.

It was a pretty good night on smack down that had some solid matches. Starting out with MVP vs. Matt Hardy. It was a great match in which Matt Hardy picked up the win possibly starting a fued against MVP and possibly leading to a US championship match at TGAB. I would say this was the match of the week in wrestling. Another solid match was Finlay meeting Flair in the ring for the first time ever and it was a very technical match with Finlay picking up the win with some sort of leg sumission. We also saw a Khali and Batista fued start which is painful to watch. A match between Batista and Khali, I would not be able to watch. Then at the end of the show we saw Kane appear on the Cutting Edge and we learned they will be facing off at TGAB which is great getting Kane back in the title picture. Finally we learned that one of the most exciting wrestlers is returning in REY MYSTERIO. Good night for SMmoreless
  • Review...

~Matt Hardy vs. MVP - A very good match. It started out slow, then the speed of the match went up, and it turned into my favorite match of the night. 3.5 stars

~Jimmy Wang Yang - Two completely different styles. I didn't really care for this match at all. 1.5 stars

~Major Brothers vs. Job Boys - Pointless Squash match. .5 star

~Ric Flair - A little to late for this one. Maybe 15 years ago, this match would have been awesome. 2 stars

~Palumbo vs. Dykstra - Well it looks like Big Chuck is going to get a push. Well, he is better then Khali & Henry. 2 starsmoreless
  • This Smackdown had a couple really good matches: Hardy vs. MVP and Finlay vs. Flair.

Matt Hardy vs MVP: I tuned in a little late for this episode so I did not catch the beginning of this match, but however did see the amazing finish. From what I saw of this, it was a really good match considering it is not on a PPV. Also, it continues the main event push for Hardy. 7/10

Jimmy Wang Yang vs Chris Masters: There is not much to be said about this short match. At least it was not a complete squash for Masters as Yang was able to get some offense in. 4/10

Major Brothers vs Mike Foxx & Jeremy Young: Both of the Major Brothers are impressive wrestlers and I look forward to seeing more from them. 5/10

Ric Flair vs Finlay: This could have been a classic, but came a little short. Still, it was a very good technical match and easily match of the night. 8/10

Chuck Palumbo vs Kenny Dykstra: Chuck Palumbo made his return to WWE in this match. And he impressed me a lot. It seems that WWE is looking toward pushing him to either the main event of mid-card. 6/10

Eugene vs Deuce: This was not really a match as Khali came out and squashed both of them. 0/10

Cutting Edge with Kane: This served its purpose in setting up the Kane vs. Edge title match at the Great American Bash, but other than that was a pretty poor promo.

Overall, the match quality for this Smackdown was really high, but the promos were sub-par.moreless
