WWF Livewire

Show Summary

"WWF LiveWire" aired Saturday mornings on USA Network. It was a revamp of the WWF's previous Saturday morning show, "WWF Mania." The studio mimicked the original concept of the Mania set, but included more televisions and gadgets, and was designed to look like a television production center. LiveWire and Mania shared the same host, Todd Pettingil. LiveWire was the first WWF show to take fans' phone calls, letters, and faxes and respond to them on the air. The show was used to summarize the past week in the WWF and often showed what WWF superstars were doing after Monday Night Raw went off the air. Eventually, Pettingil was joined by Sunny (Tammy Lynn-Sytch) and the two answered phone calls and interviewed WWF stars in the Stamford, CT studios. After Pettingil left the WWF, Michael Cole began hosting LiveWire. LiveWire was the predecessor to WWF Excess, a morning news show hosted by Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman and Marissa McMahon. It was a show that recapped current events in the WWF (now WWE) at the time.moreless
