  • This was boring and ridiculous.

Coming out of nowhere (and never being mentioned again) we get the whammo of a surprise that Professor X has a son. (And it's not with Moira McTaggert, Lilandra of the Shiar, or any of Charles' known loves from X-Men lore).

So there's this punk named Lucas who throws Emo parties at an abandoned castle. He wants to challenge Professor X on a mental level, and he bullies Jean and Scott. David is Charles' missing son, and there's also a little boy running around. The big reveal is that they are all one in the same. Too bad I didn't find any of this interesting.moreless
  • Xavier's son is introduced, and never mentioned again.

    7.7
This episode introduces yet another super-powered evil mutant who will never appear again on the show (see also the previous episode). But this episode is even worse, since it doesn't even give a real conclusion to the story (one might assume that Omega Red died at the end of the previous episode). But at the end of this episode, Legion is still loose, and seems to powerful for Xavier to stop him.

Introducing Xavier's teenage son into the series was a nice move, considering that this show's primary audience target were teenagers. Having him portrayed almost perfectly, brilliant, powerful and of course insane. The only flaws this episode has are: a weak story-line, not having a conclusion, and most important of all, why didn't Xavier mention his son before and never will again. Other than that, the episode is pretty good, but not outstanding as other episodes this show had to offer.

This episode's side story was a comical one, featuring Kitty and Kurt in all kind of awkward places. I won't say more so that I won't spoil it for any of you who haven't seen the episode. So this episode is worth watching, but be sure that you won't see Legion back anytime soon.moreless

    • Lucas: Ah, I see the boyfriend has come to crash the party. Up for some fun?
Cyclops: Listen Dracula, kidnapping two people isn't my idea of a good time.
(Lucas flings Cyke across the room where he lands in a heap.)
Lucas: Well then, is that entertaining enough for you?

    • Lucas: I know what you're thinking and you're not.
      Jean: Not what?
Lucas: Powerful enough. Face it, Jean. You may be stronger than your average mutant, but you don't have enough juice to break out of the center of a mountain.
      Jean: Lucas, don't do this!

    • Scott: Man, remind me to never disappear. I hate to have strangers going through my stuff.
Jean: Why? You got something to hide?

    • Lucas: What do you think, daddy? Am I a chip off the old mutant block or what? You were busy taking care of other people's freaks that you never did have anything of your own. Well, take a good look, Professor. I hope your proud, 'cause you made me what I am today.

    • (Kurt wakes up back in his bedroom while Kitty falls to the floor)
Kurt: I'm feeling much better. Had some weird dreams, though. Like we were out in public, wearing our pajamas and -- (Looks at Kitty)
(Kitty grabs a pillow and starts hitting him)
Kitty: School, downtown, in the park, at a funeral. I can never show my face in Bayville again!

    • Storm: Ms. Haller, my name is Ororo Monroe, this is Jean and Scott. We work with your -- the Professor. Don't worry. We'll find your son.

  • NOTES (7)

    • The series claims that Charles Xavier and David's mother were briefly married in his youth. In the comics, Xavier had an affair with Gabrielle Haller, a patient in the Israeli mental hospital where he worked, and she became pregnant.

    • First appearance of Legion

    • Originally in the comics Legion was a very powerful TP, like his father, but he accidentally absorbed the personalities of three other people, and gained new powers as a result: telekinesis, pyrokinesis, much like the Legion of the Evolution universe.

    • The girl who tries to flirt with Lucas in the beginning of the episode looks like Risty Wilde (a.k.a. Mystique)

    • One of the kids in the castle is wearing a Fantastic Four T-shirt.

    • In the comics, Xavier's son is autistic and the most powerful mutant. In fact, he was the one who caused all the time fluctuations during AoA. Ian represents how he acts, like a quiet child, David is what he probably looks like, and Lucas represents his power. Also, David has multiple personality disorder, which explains the three boys.

    • Shows the first hint to the Berzerker and Magma getting together.
