  • Not nearly as strong as The Stuff of Heroes, but at least Gambit shows up.

    8.0
This is an oddly titled episode, with an ultimate purpose that I'm not quite clear on. Wanda, the Scarlet Witch is unable to find Magneto, but she does find her brother Quicksilver who betrayed her, and she takes out her revenge. Gambit tasks the brotherhood with the assignment of busting Quicksilver out (on behalf of Magneto). Rogue and Kitty skip class to stop them.

The role they've decided to give Gambit here is an odd one- he's a lacky for Magneto and I think the actor doing his voice is miscast. He sounds southern, but he doesn't sound Cajun. His kinetic energy ability is animated poorly compared to the older show, and he has a chili bowl hair cut. Still, I liked the twist of Quicksilver becoming the new leader of the brotherhood.moreless
  • The Brotherhood is offered a chance to join Magneto's group, but only if they free Pietro.

    8.3
Following the events from the previous episode, the members of the Brotherhood are kicked out of school (again), by Principal Kelly, the man who convinced them to return in the first place. Lance notices this and wonders if Kelly only wanted them back just so they'll fight with Scott and the others.

This episode also features the return of Gambit, one of Magneto's lackeys. He fights the Brotherhood and wins, and then he tells them Magneto wants them to join his group. The Brotherhood is thrilled by this invitation, but soon they discover that there is one condition: to free Pietro, Magneto's son, from the army. They all remember Pietro was the one who betrayed their team in the first place, but reluctantly agree to rescue him.

Meanwhile, Kitty and Rogue notice Gambit is talking with the Brotherhood and they decide to follow them, and by doing so missing school that day. The action begins when the Brotherhood attacks the military convoy that was transporting Pietro. Once they free him, he immediatly runs away, not even thanking the others. Lance is furious and starts an avalanche, endangering all the people there. Rogue and Kitty appear in time to save the soldiers, and the captain thanks them, telling them that not everybody hates mutants.moreless
  • wanda's lloking for Magneto so she goes after Pietro.Pietro's captured and the brotherhood have to save him.Kitty and Rogue follow the brotherhood boys and get involved.

    6.0
This episode is A liitle on the boring side but it's ok. My favorite thing about it is the fact that Rogue and Kitty hich-hike by phasing through cars and trucks.I also thought it was funny when Todd was in Pietro's suit and making fun of him.The only action in this episode is when Avalanche, Toad, and Blob came to rescue Pietro, but it's really short because Rogue takes ou Avalanche and Kitty save Pietro from falling off a cliff. Then Pietro runs away and The Brotherhood go back home. Also, I didn't know Lance pleys the guitar. Why doesn't he play it for Kitty?moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (7)

    • Trivia: Blob is reading an X-Men comic when Gambit walks in at the end of the episode.

    • Trivia: The jerk in the Captain America shirt (from episode #27, "Operation: Rebirth") is back, hassling Evan & Rogue.

    • Amara was in her X-Men uniform when she heated up the debris in the pit that Beast carried out immediately afterward. When Scott announced he was leaving for school and offering a ride to those who'd hurry, Amara is somehow instantly in her regular clothes rushing out to join them, passing Beast (still carrying the melted debris) in the process. Unless she has super speed, there's no way she could have been ready that fast.

    • Near the end where the soldier mentions something about not everyone hating mutants, you can see the American flag on his left arm. Note, however, that the American flag has 13 stripes (7 red, 6 white). His flag has only 7 stripes (4 red, 3 white).

    • When Principal Kelley expels the Brotherhood from school, he signs a piece of paper to make it "official." However, the part of the paper that is readable doesn't seem to be an expulsion document. It reads (three dots indicates non-visible parts of the sentence):

      ...us the revised X-sheet;...
...revised sheet, we can notice only hand
...s to green after 1.04 feet? Original X-sheet
...ng to green after 4X. Please let us know.
...e can't see any direction in the revised sheet.

    • Toad puts on one of Quicksilver's suits. Later, when he breaks down a door, Avalanche comes by and rips the suit off. He does this by grabbing the suit by the collar and pulling up. However, the only possible way for the suit to come off is by pulling it down. There doesn't appear to be a zipper or opening that would allow it to be pulled upward. Furthermore, we hear no zipping sound or even a ripping fabric sound. It simply slips off in the wrong direction.

    • Not only does Kitty leave her toothbrush in Beast, but her toothpaste as well. Before she runs through him she has toothpaste all over her mouth. When she runs out, its gone. Its also not on the brush when she retrieves it.
