Marton Csorkas (Borias/Bellach) joins Renee O'Connor and Tilly (Argo) as actors on Xena who have played both a character and his or her child (not just descendant).
This episode marks the final appearance of Danielle Cormack as Ephiny.
Peter Muller appeared as one of the centaurs at the start of the episode. He has previously appeared as centaurs on both Xena ("The Play's the Thing") and Hercules (in three different episodes, playing Deric, who was married to Lyla, played by Lucy Lawless).
Goof: During the big battle outside of the farmhouse, several of Belach's men have shields when they charge, but for some reason not a single soldier in combat is holding one until Xena snags one to stop arrows.
Up until now, lengthy Xena flashbacks have moved forward in time from episode to episode. This is the first lengthy flashback to take place earlier than previous flashbacks, placing it between "Destiny" and "The Debt I".
Xena never took the pinch off of Nicha, but since it was obviously just to prevent her from feeling the pain of the C Section and not the fatal one, it must not be a problem.
Xena the human sonogram! Just by touching Nicha's stomach, she knows that the baby is a boy and a centaur! Of course, centaurs seem to always be male, so if she knew that it was a centaur, it would automatically be male. Perhaps centaurs are carried in a different position than a human baby, and therefore easily determined by touch.
Gabrielle: You know? Different roads lead to the same place.
Xena: That's very wise, only on your road, he'd be dead.
Gabrielle: Yes. Oh very nice
Xena: Gabrielle, you'll never buy that.
Gabrielle: Xena, I'm not buying them. I'm shopping.
Moon shines bright
Like fire's light.
Amazon baby, sleep tonight.
Please don't cry.
Gabrielle: All right Xena, I know it's not me.
Ephiny's Voice: As beautiful as ever.
This episode is also known as 'The Last Centaur'.
