  • Omi turns evil? The end of the world!

    8.5
The Ying Yo-yo was really confusing but that does not matter. The main topic of this episode is that Chase Young is always right. Boo. Omi loses his chi in the confusing Ying-Yang World and comes out evil. How are the warriors going to make him good again? This episode was okay and I did not really want to make Omi evil but I suppose he must learn. I preferred when Raimundo turned evil, though, it was less sinister at any rate. Omi seemed scary when he was bad. Anyway, very good for a betrayal-style episode, except that no one blamed him.moreless
  • A wonderful episode that keeps you on your feet.

    8.9
Overall, a great episode; I really enjoyed it. The slope of excitement raises as the episode goes along.

Judging Omi is an episode about which "one" Xiaolin Apprentice will be rise to the next level - the Wudai Warrior. In the beginning, the story was slightly boring, as well as pretty random. For instance, what was up with the eye contact between Master Fung and Dojo when Dojo said that it was a first that Master Fung bore good news? And the "Master Fungie" stunt that Rai pulled off?

As usual, though, Omi was SURE that he was going to be the one, with his over-confidence. Then, right afterwards, Rai and Kim were nodding their heads in unison for five seconds - in cartoon time, that's a lot.

The only two good parts in the first five minutes was the Omi making fun of and getting beaten up by Raimundo and Kimiko - mainly Kimiko; then there was the Dojo-bot.

The annoying part was the bribing and the "oh, it's me!" line. That is very cliched.

Later on, the story is very awesome.

Chase Young swapped the Ying Yo-Yo with a tourist yo-yo, making it so that it seemed like Jack ended up with the real yo-yo. Later on, the power of the Wushen Geyser wipes out the memories of the warriors of the rade the Chase made at Xiaolin Temple to abduct Master Fung, and he tricks Omi into using the Ying Yo-Yo to find him, leaving his good chi behind.

Omi is finally evil! He looks very scary like that, and his speech about loyalty made me feel like if I were the warriors minus Omi, I would have been very guilty.

This is a very good episode. A few kinks, but still one you should spend time to watch.moreless
  • I can not believe Omis finally evil!!

    9.2
Well, this episode definetly proves the saying All Good Things Come To Those Who Wait. After a year,a whole series,Chase Young FINALLY turns Omi to the dark side! This is going to prove pivital to the others in the future. The only bad thing about this episode was Jack's army of evil. Guys like Tubbimura,Katnappe,Cyclops and Vlad aren't even worth Chases' time, let alone his fists. Now I know Master Fung was suprised by Chases' prescence, but surely he could have put up a fight! The Ying-Yang world was brilliant and I think personally that we could see much more of the unparallel world. But I have one question: If Omi only went bad because his chi was spilt, why did Master Fung have to meditate so hard??moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (9)

    • Look Hard: You'll see that one of Chase Young's warriors is a Japanese Samurai. Meaning Chase must have been to Japan at some point in time.

    • When Chase Young is talking about turning Omi to the dark side, we see Omi driving the Shen-Garoo, but when they arrive at the Shen Gong Wu he is playing with a toy plane with control panel or steering wheel.

    • When Raimundo asks what's happening,if you look closely, his necklace is gone.

    • When Chase is shaking Jack looking for the fake Ying Yo-Yo to make it look like Jack had it all along, look carefully and you'll see a monkey drop out of Jack. Unless this was a joke, there's no way that monkey could've fit inside Jack's pockets.

    • How is the secret to destroying evil going to get back Master Fung from the Ying-Yang World?

    • When Kimiko gives Dojo the fruit basket there's only one apple in there, but later, when he talks to Raimundo, there's two apples in there. Furthermore, the second apple is orange.

    • When Jack complains and says that he's the one should be by Chases's side instead of Omi, Wuya's eyes don't have any black spirals on them.

    • Right before Chase divided the planet, and the camera closed up on his face, his right eyebrow was missing.

    • True to what they said, the last time Rai won a showdown that had Jack in it was Pandatown, Clay in Big as Texas, but Kimiko in Tangled Web, so Kimiko doesn't always kick his butt. All other times Omi faced him.

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Kimiko: Any way Omi it sure is good to have you back.
Omi: But I am not back I am no coming back.
Raimundo: Come on dude if this about before we're really sorry.
Omi: When I tried to lead none of you would follow, when I tried to talk none of you would listen, only one person stood by me, believed in me, and trusted me, that is where i choose to go.
Chase: You have ade a wise choice young warrior, at last the prophoceyhas been realized.

    • Omi and Chase: Dogs playing poker!

    • Jack: (to Omi) Man, you're about as sharp as a butter knife.

    • Omi: A true warrior acts now and worries later.

    • Raimundo: I can't remember the last time i kicked his butt.
Jack: This is very disrespectful to evil!

    • (Dojo bots vision becomes the scene looking at Dojo)
Dojo: Dojo Bot with you now guarding our temple our security system will be impenetrable.
      (Dojo fixing Dojo Bot's Eyes)
Dojo Bot: As always you're genius is only exceeded by your rugged good looks
      *Teeth Shines*
(Dojo and Dojo Bot hug each other).

    • Omi: I could never join the dark forces.
      Chase: Never say never.

    • Wuya: Omi!, Omi!, Omi!, it's always Omi!

    • (Upon seeing Omi join Chase's side)
Jack: This is so unfair! That should be me standing there!
Wuya: Aw, always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

    • Omi: Vote!? This is most ridiculous! What do you think this is, a delicacy!?

    • Omi: Jack Spicer, prepare for a Xiaolin butt kicking!
Kimiko: You kicked his butt last time. I should kick his butt!
Clay: No, you always kick his butt. It's my turn to kick his butt.
Raimundo: I can hardly remember the last time I got to kick his butt!
Jack: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Time out! This talk is very disrespectful to evil.

    • (Everyone wonders who the new Wu Dai Warrior will be and Omi states it's him)
      Kimiko: Here's a thought, me!
Omi: (Thinking it's funny) You...? You're a girl!
      (Kimiko beats him up)
      Kimiko: You were saying?
Omi: (Badly injured) Nothing... I LIKE GIRLS!

  • NOTES (18)

  • ALLUSIONS (6)

    • Reference: The Ying-Yang world
The Ying-Yang world looks similar to the Astral Plane in the Video Game X-Men Legends.

    • The way Omi looks when he first arrives in the Ying Yang World looks similiar when the characters off the show 'Chalk Zone' go into Chalk Zone.

    • Jack: Yeah, well, look again, sweet pea.
Sweet Pea was Popeye and Olive's only child in the Popeye cartoons.

    • Raimundo: So, who's the lucky monk, Grandmaster Fung?
A reference to the R&B artist, Grandmaster Funk.

    • Omi: I am the chosen one!
Omi saying he is the chosen one, and the fact he turns to the dark side is most likely a reference to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which ironically came out in theatres the Thursday before this episode premiered, where Anakin (the chosen one) betrays the Jedi Order.

    • Title: Judging Omi
This is a spoof on the title of the CBS series, Judging Amy.
