After the Warriors befriend a mermaid trapped in ice that's being hunted by an ancient warrior, they soon discover that the warrior and mermaid aren't exactly what each appears to be.
OMG (oh my gosh), don't get me started on that evil, slimey, disgusting, ursela the sea witch wannabe Dyris! Everytime I see her in Raimundo's arms I get totally furious! Grrrr! I mean that whole D.I.D. (Damsel In Detress) act is so 15th century! Dyris is making us girls look bad! She even made Ariel look bad! Argh! I know it sounds weird but I can't help it. But I knew there was something strange about her. I'm just glad the Xiaolin Warriors were able to put her on ice. It's a good thing Klofang was frozen too or Dyris would've conquered the world in time it takes to order a pizza. LOL! Anyway, this episode was beyond brilliant. I give it two thumbs up. Plus, it does give the audience a little awareness about global warming causing the polar ice caps to melt gradually.moreless
After the Warriors befriend a mermaid trapped in ice that's being hunted by an ancient warrior. The boys ( Raimundo, Clay and Omi ) do whatever the mermaid tells him because the mermaid is beautiful. They ( Kimiko, Raimundo, Clay and Omi ) soon discover that the warrior and mermaid aren't exactly what each appears to be. The mermaid wants to control the world and put it under the water and the warrior wants to stop her. My favorite part of this episode is when they find the mermaid and when the xiaolin monks learn the truth behind the mermaid and the warrior, The warrior being a non evil person and the mermaid being the evil boy mind controlling mermaid. The lesson is to never judge a book by its cover.moreless

This episode was okay, I guess. So the mermaid fooled everyone, including Kimiko, with her good looks and her watery disposition. Anyone could tell that she was being evil the whole time! Besides, monks, especially Omi, were not supposed to get attracted to girls. This feels more like a comic than anything else. Yet there was a general air of liking to it. We learn not to be deceived by sweet words and amazingly good looks but to be suspicious of those attempting to control your actions. The use of the Gills of Hamachi to fight the monster was humourous too.moreless
Not bad. I liked the idea of the mermaid tricking the Warriors to helping her do all her work. The one where Omi was struggling with his words in his conversation with Kimiko is very humourous. But, still evil has got to go.moreless
The show starts out with Jack Spicer and Omi already in a showdown. The Warriors now use their new Xiaolin robes. After Omi wins the showdown, Raimundo sees a girl in the icy water. He was pushed into the sea. He saved her only to meet a pirate. The Warriors quickly use their Wu and protect the mermaid named Dyris. They took her back to the temple. Dyris then uses her seductive charms to trick the Warriors into telling her all about the Shen Gong Wu. Just when all the Warriors were so worked up over protecting Dyris, Klowfang comes and attacks the temple. He soon reveal to the monks that Dyris is evil and wants to flood the world. After the Warriors each admit their silly mistakes, they decided to look for Dyris. Eventually they found her but not Jack Spicer comes. He nearly kills the monks but Clay combines the Reversing Mirror and Glove Of Jisaku to use Jack\'s robot against him. He becomes stranded on the river. Meanwhile, Omi is kicked to an icy cave. He sees the Black Beetle(some armor that protects you from heat or something) and wants to grab it but not before challenging Dyris to a Xiaolin Showdown. As it was on land, Dyris becomes an ugly-looking monster. Omi fights and prevailed. Dyris and Klawfang fought till the last end only to be encased in ice blocks again. Later, Jack, who was in the icy pool, was tied to the Silver Mantle Ray and pulled across the sea.(Luckily Kimiko was with the Warriors or Jack would have been frozen to death)moreless
In the beginning of the episode, when Dojo is watching Jack Spicer and Omi, Raimundo's eyes are blue. After everyone looks at Clay, his eyes return to his normal green color.
Edit
This is the first time Kimiko flirts with one of the Male Warriors, which was Omi.
Edit
If Dyris was going to the centre of the Earth according to Xiaolin Showdown reality she never would've needed to get the black beatle.
Edit
Omi: Remember, our foe is very slippery, and very evil, and very, very pretty...
Edit
Raimundo: Someone should go rescue her! Someone with a lot of belly fat.
Clay: (pushing Raimundo into the water) Or someone with a flotation device for a head!
Edit
(While Jack is gracefully ice skating)Dojo: That Spicer kid sure has nice form.
Clay: Ooh, lookee there! Triple salchow!
(Dojo, Raimundo, and Kimiko look at him strangely)Clay: What? Can't a cowboy be interested in figure skating?
Edit
The Bubble
When Omi upsets Kimiko at the end of the episode, you see a sweat bubble coming down from the backside of her head. This is a parody from Totally Spies when the spies have bubbles dripping down their heads whether their confused, upset, etc.
Edit
The Gills of Hamachi's effects are similar to the plant "Gillyweed" from Harry Potter.
Edit
Jack-bot: Help me! I'm melting! When Kimiko uses her fire element on Jack's robots, one of them screams out-loud that he's melting -- a reference to the witch melting in The Wizard of Oz.
