Xuxa was the English language version of a popular South American children's show. Children watched educational clips, competed in games and from time to time a special guest would come on the show. People dressed as animal mascots and the host would sing and dance before and after station breaks. ''''The elements of the South American show (including the attractive blonde host, Xuxa) remained intact, which made some parents uncomfortable due to the "sexyness" of the show.moreless
This is yet another one of a very few children's shows that actually made use of not only creativity, but coming at things from the mindset of a childs attention span, by keeping things moving and happening everywhere, and I do mean everywhere, and with bright colors, and bouncy music to get you up and out your seat to dance dance dance with XUXA!!!! and the incredible........did I say incredible Paquita's in there white thigh high boots, and drum majorette type costumes, in contrasting colors two red two blue, and then XUXA in a rainbow of colors like a beautiful peacock, her presence keeping the entire show moving along, and we must not forget the Paquitas.. Wso bad and uncared for that this is it's only review. There isn't even an editor or episode guide for this show. It should only air in Brazil. It's a Brazillian show anyway. Brazil borrows TV shows from America. Not vice-versa! Again, a horrible show. The top contributor has a total of six points. Amazing don't you think. I only searched this show becasue my brother made a bet that it isn't on TV.com. It stopped airing in 1994. No one would watch the Brazillian version, so why watch the english version?! The worst idea ever. Soomething a politic would do. And of course, it's absolutely retarded.moreless
Not exactly a bad way to past time. Although I have had more enjoyable moments. Xuxa does have its high points although I certainly wished there were more of them.
Not exactly a bad way to past time. Although I have had more enjoyable moments. Xuxa does have its high points although I certainly wished there were more of them. It left me bored not long after I was exposed to it and that certainly is not saying something entirely positive about it. Nonetheless, it is very well packaged so a 7 rating I feel is very fair.
