Craig Kilborn (who guest starred on "Kentucky Top Hat") used his clout to win Brandy Flores this role. Flores had appeared in an ad for Hydroxycut Weight Loss documenting how she had lost over 30 lbs. Kilborn had the hots for her, and invited her on his late, late show in January with the intention of getting her a guest appearance on another CBS series. Besides Yes, Dear, five other would-be contenders were The Ellen Show, Becker, JAG, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Wolf Lake (the latter of which Craig and his writing partner Mike Gibbons joked about how difficult it would be to get her on). At the end of Flores' appearance, Cynthia J. Popp called in and gave her a featured extra role on The Bold and the Beautiful. Greg Garcia then called in and gave her this speaking part. Good thing The Ellen Show producers didn't call in, since CBS pulled the plug on it a week later.
