Episode Summary

Return of the Night Master
Return of the Night Master: When Master Yo refuses to accelerate Yin and Yang's training (as he feels they're not ready,) an evil force comes to Yin and Yang (but they don't know he's evil yet.) He cons them into playing in a tournament that he claims will prove to Master Yo that they're really ready for accelerated training. What they don't know however is that the tournament is just a clever way for the Night Master to get Yin and Yang to free his army so he can become powerful again. Will Master Yo be able to discover this and reveal the truth to Yin and Yang in time? And if he can't, can Yin and Yang still find a way to stop the Night Master?moreless

  • It took a long time, but I finally respect this episode.

When I first reviewed this episode, I really didn't understand why Coop turned to the evil side. Coop just didn't seem like the kind of guy who could pull off being evil being...him. But after seeing every single season 1 episode of "Yin Yang Yo" at least once, and seeing some of the new episodes in season 2, I can now go back and give this episode the best rating I can give it because I know now that Coop Does become a good guy in the end! This show just wouldn't have been as good if Coop stayed being one of the bad guys. The Night Master is a great bad guy, totally deceives everyone who tries to make a deal with him and doesn't take any heroic nonsense! So with the Night Master being what he is, I expect the characters after having such a traumatic encounter to become better prepared. Having said that, the reason why I can give this episode a perfect rating is as evil as Coop acted in this episode, Yin acts a Lot worse in the future! And there's no telling how much more evil Yin is going to get! :!: This show will get you hooked on and will Never let you go! :D That's why I love this show! :) Enough said, true believers! ;)moreless
  • Wow!This episode was hecka funny!

Ah well I think this is a great episode. We find out that a long time ago NightMaster lost in a battle with Yo.Yo froze all his armies and only WooFoo can free them, but the NightMaster made everyone forget that WooFoo saved the world and now everyone thinks WooFoo sucks.NightMaster got an idea how to free his armies.A dodgeball tournamet!Yin and Yang try to join the contest but Yo tells them that using WooFoo in anger brings bad things.Yin and Yang didnt listen and went to the tourement.Coop joined that becouse that needed three players.Coop always got kicked by the balls.Yin and Yang lost but they met NightMaster who tought them how to use WooFoo in anger and Yin,Yang and technicly Coop got to the finals! They fought against Ultimooses students and Yin and Yang won but got the NightMasters armies free. They got attcked and defeat the NightMaster. It was a very special episode!moreless
  • This is the BEST episode in the whole series!!!

This episode was awesome! This is where the show actually starts to get good. In this very episode, we found out that Coop- the nerdy chicken who has a crush on Yin- works for the Night Master, because his love for Yin is so strong, he'd do practically anything to get her. Even working for a great evil, bringing the Earth to its doom! Of course, she still barely even notices him, and she treats him worse than he deserves! No wonder he's doing something so risky! Anyways, I think that the Night Master is probably the most powerful villain on this show. The rest are complete IDIOTS!! LOL! I mean seriously, the rest of the villains never even got CLOSE to making their plans work.moreless
  • It has fianlly happened.

Night Master tricks Yin and Yang into breaking the spell cast by Master Yo a long time ago. After it works, they breifly battle the Night Master and escape before they are beaten and/or crushed. Afetr escaping, Yang uses the Paws of Pain to trap Night Master and his army underground. That's pretty much it. But, with that out of the way, IT has fianlly happened. Coop has sided up to the Night Master in order to get Yin. If you missed this, then you missed something amazing.moreless

Yin: On a scale of one to dead, how much trouble are we in?
Master Yo: (nervously) More than you realize.
(The Night Master's army breaks out of its marbelized form)

    • Night Master: The world wasn't always like this. (flashback)
Dave: (skipping down the street) Lalalalala! Hey everybody, it's the greatest day ever! (huge bird comes in and squishes him) Ahh!
Roger Jr.: Hahaha! It is now!
Night Master: It used to be like this!

    • Yang: Ow! The pretzel!

  • NOTES (2)

    • "Dragon Ball" and "Dodgeball"

    • The dialogue Yin says when Master Yo destroys the puppets is similar to the dialogue Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) says when the Death Star destroyed Alderaan in Star Wars episode IV.

    • Master Yo: "And now, I will make Yo-Chop talk while drinking a glass of... dang it, I can see my lips move!"
Master Yo calls his ventriloquist dummy Yo-Chop. This is probably a reference to the puppet character Lamb Chop, in the 90's preschool children's program "Lamb Chop's Play-Along."

    • The little bit about the ninja fighters who are called the, "Tortoises From the 80's" and the song that is heard whenever their name is mentioned is a direct reference to the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" which was created in the 1980's, and they also had thier own popular theme song that would get played many times during the times they were on the screen.
