  • This episode launched the second season of Yin Yang Yo!, and it did so with a bang. This episode was spectacular and I have high hopes for the rest of the season.moreless

The Pecking Order was a fantastic episode of Yin Yang Yo! that I had really enjoyed. This episode was awesome; it picked up right where the first season had ended and it did a remarkable job at establishing the overall plot for the second season. I loved the way that the characters were portrayed, especially Yin; she is downright adorable and I really enjoyed seeing her behave in the manner that she did. I also felt that Coop was handled in a rather enjoyable fashion, and if I may speculate, I believe that he will become the new Night Master. This could be proven wrong, of course, but this episode really seemed to be moving in that direction. At any rate, this episode wasn't without flaws; I felt that the brief musical number wasn't necessary and I was unhappy to see it, though it did permit a hilarious scene to take place when it came to an end. All in all, this was one of my favorite episodes in the series and I give it my highest recommendation; if you plan on watching any other episodes in the second season, you really need to watch this one, as it reveals a lot of information.

Party Favors was also a fantastic episode, though I felt that it was a bit weaker than the other one. However, it did further the overall plot of the second season, which was an impressive feat if you consider the fact that it was merely the second episode. It also had some great humor as well; I really enjoyed the way that the three henchmen were handled and it was nice seeing them obtain some character development. I particularly loved Saranoia's henchman, as he was hilarious and I liked the fact that he gained an opportunistic victory. I don't wish to spoil anything for those who haven't seen this episode, but I believe that he will be a formidable villain for Yin and Yang sometime down the road. This episode also ended in a fashion that will likely have some influence in later episodes of the second season, though only time will tell. All in all, this was a great episode and I give it my recommendation; this series continues to prove why I love it so much, and I hope that later episodes are as entertaining as these two were.moreless

  • An episode so great, you'll wish for more, and you'll get it! 8)

Where do I start?! Coop comes back! (Like I knew he would!) The Night Master comes back in some way (his energy,) Coop is no longer a bad guy (yes!) His mom has a grudge against the Woo Foo Warriors (like I predicted she did) even Flayviour came back for good measure! And there was something else I couldn't have predicted! G.P. actually becomes a threat! That's right! G.P. is no longer content taking Saranoia's orders and gets an upgrade so that he is now Fred! Frightening, Really Powerful Evil Dude! (He insists the 'P' is silent! ) Whether it's humor or whether it's action, this show has got a good helping of both! And I can't wait to see what the rest of this season has to offer! I'll be watching intently! 8) Enough said, true believers! ;)moreless
  • The start of the new season!

This was a good way to start the new season, though not as great as I could have hoped. Yin completely blows off Coop after his return, which I disliked. However, having G.P. aka Fred (Saranoia's gnome assistant) become super-charged with evil was an unexpected but pretty good plot twist. The new theme song revealed a HUGE group of bad guys both old and new, all looking bigger and badder than ever. All in all, while this premiere episode could have been better, it's gotten me psyched up for the new season. The future of Yin Yang Yo looks bright!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (9)

    • When Yin and Yang plug their ears, they put their fingers on the sides of their heads instead of their actual ears, which are floating above their heads.

    • When the flunkies are trying to get into the old Night Master's lair, the number 13 is written on the wall next to the door. It could refer to the next time Fred is the main villain, the thirteenth episode of the season both airing wise and production wise.

    • Among the Night Masters before the one Yin and Yang defeated were Eradicus, the Griffin from Doomed To Repeat It, and an unnamed cobra woman.

    • Coop still possesses the evil energy the Night Master gave him, but he now has it under control.

    • It's learned in this episode that Coop's home looks like a giant egg and it has a swimming pool, indicating that Coop's family might have some substantial wealth.

    • New Move Debut, Yin: Yin-visibility allows Yin to turn herself (and at least Yang as well) invisible and even though she's known the move for longer than she's letting on, she claims that she's only learned it just now.

    • It is learned that there always has been a Night Master, and with the destruction of the one from season 1, a new one will soon rise.

    • It's learned in this episode that Coop's Mom has a grudge against Yin and Yang mostly because she thinks that whenever they're near him, bad things happen.

    • G.P. (Apparently now Saranoia's former gnome helper,) becomes much more powerful in this episode and insists on calling himself Fred which is an acronym for: "Frightening Really Powerful Enraged Dude," and Fred insists that the 'P' in his name is silent.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Yang: (to the evil Roger Jr.) Uh, dude, I don't know what crawled up your trunks, but we're gonna find out! In a way that's not as weird as it sounds.

    • Yang: And now, back by popular demand, the Foo-Nado!

    • (After Yang slashes away G.P, Flayviour, and Charles' clown disguise) Yang: Henchmen? I should've known. No self-respecting clown would ever wear a costume that matches! Flayviour: (crying) Why must you be so hurtful?! Yang: Crying on the outside?! That does it!

    • (Yang charges at Fred as he attacks Yin)
Yang: Hey, Fr-ped, no manhandling the girl rabbit! (Fred smacks Yang away)
Fred: You know, if you're going to surprise someone, you should skip that whole 'Hey!' thing there!

    • Fred: This is great! Not only does Fred talk about himself in the 3rd person, he's also powerful enough to bend time, space, and warp reality! (shoots lasers)
Yang: Hey, Fred! You might be more powerful, but your aim still sucks!
Fred: (sarcastically) That's a great sword! There are new swords, they make them out of metal now?

    • Yin: (about Coop) I can't believe it! First he hounds me, than he betrays me, then he takes credit for saving the world, and we're still not invited to his party?!
Coop: Oh great, I'm hearing voices of girls who don't like me in my head again.
Yang: Yin, we're invisible, not inaudible, which is a word that I can't even believe that I know!

    • Night Master's door: If being a bad friend was all it took to get you in here, the pink one could open the door right now.
      Yin: Okay, I get it!

  • NOTES (1)

    • The new opening theme animation shows a whole new crop of bad guys, with three more villains then season one's opening, and a whole lot meaner-looking.
The villains are: Bottom row, left to right: Fred, Smoke, Carl, Mirrors, Young Kraggler, and Badfoot. And Top row, left to right: The Chung Pow Kitties Aura, the Giant Robot of the Smorks, and Fastidious in his giant Hamster Mecha.

    • (Coop mumbles)
      Yin: What's that? There's trouble?
      Yang: Timmy's in the well?
