Unmoving Pictures / The Recline and Fall of Civilization
AIRED:
Unmoving Pictures: Eradicus' latest plan to destroy the Woo Foo Warriors is to have his minions, disguised as Hollywood film people, convince Yin and Yang to star in a movie which is actually an elaborate trap rigged for their doom. Can Master Yo find out about this insidious plot in time and figure out a way to stop it? The Recline and Fall of Civilization: Yang discovers something very shocking! The recliner Master Yo sits on is actually inhabited by a bunch of microscopic tiny creatures. Naturally, Master Yo and Yin don't believe Yang even though the creatures have made their presence known to Master Yo through acts of retaliation. So Yang decides to use the Woo Foo Battle Cruiser to shrink down to the size of the furry creatures to prove his theory, unaware that a mad genius who lives on the couch named Professor Whackjob, wants to use the Woo Foo Battle Cruiser himself in order to get big enough to boss all of his fellow citizens around. Will Yang be able to stop Professor Whackjob and save Master Yo's couch from a fiery end?moreless

  • "Kung Fu Panda" and "Horton Hears a Who" gets "Yin Yang Yo" parody treatment!

"Yin Yang Yo" has always struck me as being an inventive show, and they continue to prove it, to! Master Yo has bragging rights of being the first panda cartoon character to do Kung Fu, only to be snubbed and mocked by an upstart movie portraying a Kung Fu Panda which gets a significant amount of money and fame! But Yin and Yang really like money and fame. So when they have a chance to get it by starring in a sequel to the upstart movie with the Kung Fu Panda, they apply for the job and they get it immediately! But what they don't realize is that this acting gig is just a trap set up by Eradicus and his minions so that they can destroy them! Ironically, on the movie set, the only person who Does get hurt (and constantly!) is Rubber Chucky who has disguised himself as the Kung Fu Panda! And not only that, after Master Yo uncovers the plot set up by Eradicus, he uses the power of the paparazzi to humiliate them and expose their wicked scheme! Then Dr. Seuss' spirit is both honored/parodied with a tribute to tiny creatures living in a microscopic world. And Yang is about to meet them face to face! Yang is determined to show Yin and Yang that he Can be right about stuff, and he's more resourceful then they give him credit for. But what Yang doesn't count on is having to fight against the mad genius, Professor Whackjob! Yang is going to have quite a struggle dealing with Professor Whackjob on his scale. Yet luck is on Yang's side when Yang is normal-sized and Professor Whackjob becomes giant (compared to his fellow creatures, but not to Yin and Yang) and Professor Whackjob is stopped in his tracks! So both the couch And the day are saved, both on the micro-scale and on the macro-scale! That's why I enjoy watching this terrific show! Enough said, true believers! ;)moreless

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Yin: You can't do this to us! we're celebrities!
Ella Mental: "Celebrities"?! One cruddy movie does not make you a celebrity!
Rubber Chucky: Only a cruddy reality show can do that!

    • Yo: Kids, why do you wanna be in the sequel to a movie you yourselves said was stupid?
      Yang: For the money.
Yin: Being a celebrity is the most important job you can have.
      Yang: Because of the money.
Yin: Not like this "save the world from evil" stuff.

    • Yo: (about Woo Foo Panda) That movie stereotypes Woo Foo pandas as fat and stupid! (eats a handful of cookies) I'm not fat and stupid, am I?
Yang: I don't even know what to say to that. No comment?
Yin: No comment. But plenty of reassuring falsehoods.

    • (Yang accidentally knocks over a water tower and yellow liquid spills out)
Yang: I don't even want to know what liquid that came from!

    • Yang: I'm not making this up! There are a bunch of tiny people living on the recliner! Why doesn't anybody believe me?!
(Flashbacks, Yang is in the kitchen and the fridge is open)
Yang: Master Yo, it was the tiny people living in your fridge who ate all the food!
(Flashback, Yin and Yang are in their messy room)
Yang: Yin, it was the tiny people in your bed who messed this room up!
(Flashback, Yang is looking at an irritated Lena)
Yang: Lena, it was the tiny people living in the telephone pole who made you trip!
      (Flashbacks end)
Yang: Well, in any case, it's time for me to regain their trust!

    • (Yang breaks out of the prison he is in)
Yang: Wait a minute! This entire jail is made out of foam?!
Jail Guard: Everything in Feltslyvania is made out of foam! (Guard starts hitting Yang with a cotton swab) That's not stopping you from escaping, is it?
      (Yang runs away)

    • (Professor Whackjob looks at the damage Yang has caused to Feltslyvania while trying to stop him)
Professor Whackjob: This is how you save our city?!
Yang: I never said I was going to be good at it.

  • NOTES (0)

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • Furry creature: It's not like the sky is falling.
(A pretzel crumb falls on his head)
This line is a parody of the line said in the animated Disney movie of Chicken Little which is the story of a young male bird who got hit by something that fell from the sky, and then tries to redeem himself and ultimately succeeds in becoming a hero by the movie's end. The original line was said by Chicken Little as: "The sky is falling!" Another way the movie is referenced is that at two points in this episode, Yang says to somebody else: "What were we talking about?" This line was often said by different characters in the Chicken Little movie.

    • The Powerpuff Girls: The plot of the episode segment of Unmoving Pictures is similar to the Cartoon Network episode plot of Film Flam. In both cases, an evil villain uses the filming of a movie as a cover-up for committing an evil deed. Except in Master Yo's case, he was able to get help from the paparazzi in order to expose the evil scheme hatched by Eradicus.

    • Kung Fu Panda: The mock movie title of "Woo Foo Panda" is a parody of the animated block-buster by Dreamworks. The real movie story is about a Panda named Po with dreams of Warrior greatness, becomes chosen as the true Dragon Warrior and only one who can stop an evil villain named Tai Lung, from destroying his hometown of Peace Valley.

    • Horton Hears a Who!: The segment plot of The Recline and Fall of Civilization borrows its storyline from the book/T.V. special/movie originally made famous by Dr. Seuss. The original plot is that an Elephant named Horton discovers the tiny world of Who, and responsibility is placed upon him to protect the small speck of dust from being destroyed by creatures who don't believe that creatures so tiny could exist on something so small.
