On his birthday, Kid Flash is forced to go on what is supposed to be a simple delivery mission, rather than battle with the Justice League. However, he soon discovers the mission is anything but simple.

Mrs. West:: Happy birthday, Wally.
Kid Flash: Oh, my favorite breakfast--heaping piles of everything. Thanks, Mom.
Mr. West:: You know, if you ever come up for air, I can take you to the DMV to get your driver's license after school. This weather'll be a good proving ground.
Kid Flash: Um-hm. Not really in a big rush to drive, Dad. 'Cause you know, I'm me.
Mr. West:: You certainly are.
Kid Flash: Plus the team's throwing me a big surprise party this afternoon at the cave.
Mr. West:: In school today, ask your teacher the definition of "surprise."
Miss Martian: We made two cakes.
Kid Flash: Awesome. What'll you guys eat?
Miss Martian: We'll split the cupcake.
Robin: You settling in here okay?
Zatanna: Oh, yeah. Just like home.
Robin: I know this is all very new and intimidating. But I promise you... someday you'll get used to watching Wally eat.
Kid Flash: Go, get out of here! I'll handle Vandal.
Vandal Savage: You'll "handle" me? Little hero, do you really think you have what it takes to survive... Vandal Savage?
Count Vertigo: Well played, children. Admittedly, well-played. This round goes to you. And please, by all means, allow the victory to go to your heads.
Heroes appearing without dialogue: Superboy, Aqualad, Aquaman, Flash, Black Canary, Red Tornado, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter
Steven Jay Blum and Ariel Winter reprise their roles as Count Vertigo and Queen Perdita from DC Showcase: Green Arrow (2010), an animated short that was released with the Superman/Batman: Apocalypse direct-to-DVD movie.
Injoke: One of the school being closed for snow is Spisak Junior High. Jason Spisak is the actor who voices Kid Flash. Another school mentions is Dubuc/Dubuque High School, named after voice actress Nicole Dubuq.
Injoke: At the hospital, the intercom pages, "Dr. Howard, Dr. Bester, Dr. Howard." This is a reference to the 1934 Three Stooges short "Men in Black," when the actors' real names are called out by a dispatcher. The line appears in several other Stooges shorts and has become a running joke in other TV shows set in hospitals, where someone on a loudspeaker will page doctors.
This episode takes a lot of its story from The Flash vol 2 No. 1 (1987), "Happy Birthday Wally." In the comic it's Wally's 20th birthday and he must deliver a heart from NY to Seattle and meets Vandal Savage for the first time.
