Batman's all knowing nature always varies in both comics and television. Sometimes he is super prepared and would hve counter measure or supsect someone say like Roy. Other times he can get knocked out by somone like Harly Queen or someone else by a fairly obvious trap. It really depends on what the plot calls for. I can buy Red Arrow getting the drop on him. But I am half expecting them to pull a Batman R.I.P where Batman was so super prepared that he has safety measure that will ultimately free him so he can save the day at the last second.. I hope that is not the case. |
The kids figure out a way to stop super ultra Starro and figure that they can beat the bad guys with the combined efforts of the league, and as they rush in to do their plan, Batman shows up out of nowhere, grabs their blueprints or something and goes "Hm, that's not half-bad, Robin. Already stopped it, though. Would've been here sooner but I sent Superman to a few places while he was under control." Then Plastic Man comes in with all the villains in a cage made of himself and the season ends, no explanation, just Batman showing that every DC show is Batman's show. No exceptions.
Anyway, i'm not that involved in the series, but it'll be nice to see the season finale. Just waiting for Blue Beetle, and praying that it turns out better than the DCnU comic...

In the comics. It has been stated that in the cartoon Guardian is Roy's uncle and since this world is it's own world (thus not restricted by the have to follow to a close T comic canon that past DC cartoons had to deal with) they can do what they want as long as it has some kind of connection to the comic versions so it's safe to say that their most likely related by blood as the two look so much a like. As for the Rocket thing their from the same comic universe as Static from Static Shock thus why their African American as a good deal of chars in that world are that. Also their simply mentor and sidekick with Rocket being the one that got Icon into doing the whole hero thing, both in the show and comic. I actually thought her va was Cree Summer (who played Max in BB and who I happen to be a big fan of since she voiced Susie in Rugrats) but it's someone else who I think might be new to the whole voice acting thing and I don't think she's that bad. I've heard worst voices for chars in some cartoons like those two main chars in Fanboy & Chum-Chum. Compared to those ones she's a ray of sunshine to listen to.

Actually she's not all that new to the voice acting thing. When I heard her voice I was like "I know who that is." So I went online and researched and found out she played Trixie in American Dragon Jake Long. Their characters sound the same and somewhat act the same.

Well those of us who haven't watched the season finale yet don't want to know that thanks for spoiling it.
I've been seeing it being brung up a few times, and I have to admit that I was thinking the same thing: "Why didn't Batman suspect anything from Red Arrow?" But I came to the conclusion that he didn'tbecause he trusted (As much as Batman does anyway.) him. They statedin the other episode when they were choosing who they would let in that the deciding factor was based off of who they trusted. So that means Batman had to trust him to some extent.
All in all, I liked this episode though I do think that them all telling their sectrets was a bit....off. I mean, Conner's secret is a bit fresher than the other two's secrets so I can understand it not being as much of a big deal as the others. Megan acted like her secret was going t be the end of the world, but she's Megan so I can kind of accept that after hearing that the other two had secrets, she would speak up. But Artemis is the one that really surprised me because she's had this secret since she joined the team and went on her first mission. She's botched up missions because of this secret, so I wasn't expecting her to just come out and say it like that. But that's just me.
All together, nice episode. Nice twisty ending there. I was totally not suspecting Red Arrow to be the mole. I thought it was Conner to be honest. I knew it couldn't be Megan because she only recently started getting blackmailed. SO that left Artemis and just had a feeling it wasn't her.

The only thing I didn't like was Rocket, I'm unfamiliar with her character but she seems like the sterotypical, sassy black girl character who's been in practically every cartoon show ever. And they of course pair her (or at least make her attracted to) the only other black character. |
I know right in my review of this episode i would of given it a perfect score if it wasn't for the voice actor of icon. When i heard her voice i was thinking fuck why did they have to put this voice actor on the show. I am really hoping they didn't add in icon just to have another black character on the show to appeal more to the African American children/teen, when Aqualad was already beast enough, and he is the leader of the team. Especially when all of her comments were just dumb as hell. I would rather have the voice actor of the bumblebee girl seen earlier in the show. Not trying to offend any one but i cant stand when Black people talk like icon it just wants me to say "Please stop talking your voice annoys the living shit out of me".
