Show Summary

Your Show Time was a half-hour anthology series of filmed literary dramatic novels. This mid-season replacement show featured adaptations of classic stories by such authors as Robert Louis Stevenson, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens and Guy de Maupassant. Maupassant's story The Necklace was named Best Film Made for Television in 1949 at the first Emmy Awards, making it the first Emmy award presented to a network television show. The series ran for 26 episodes and aired Friday nights on the NBC network with Arthur Shields as host.
