Professor Viper introduces survival duels to Duel Academy. Each student is equipped with a special wristband that will monitor their dueling performances. If the duelist performs badly, they are demoted, and then expelled! After seeing how much energy Jaden used in his duel with Jesse, Viper commands Axel to duel Jaden. To lure Jaden, Axel captures Syrus and ties him to a rope hanging over the ocean.moreless

Axel vs. Jaden Part 1

Survival duels are introduced, and the pressure is on, especially for Syrus, who lost what little self-esteem he had. So to get to Jaden, Axel holds Syrus hostage, and agrees to let him go, if Jaden beats him in a duel.

The duel starts and right away Jaden brings out Flame wingman and throws down two face down.

Axel brings out his blaze accelerator, and the first shot missed since Jaden used de-fusion, but Axel's monster's special ability lets him fire again after paying 500 life points.

The episode ends with Jaden in a tough spot.

Nice episode, Hassleberry was very comical in this episode, epically when he acted like Jaden’s butler.moreless

Professor Viper introduces the Survival duel system in dorder to track the duelists' progress as well as gaining energy to reborn his son with the help of yubel. So he tells axel to duel Jaden and ppush him to the edge. Syrus is nervous about these duels and goes off to find more out where he rums into Axel and is held captive over a cliff tied to a bomb. Earlier in the episode jaden and jeese learned that axel always put his life on the line for training since his dad told him life is a battlefield. tryanno is starting to sort of believe in duel spirits and follows after jeese who has gone with jaden to find syrus. tey find him with axel and the duel begins and syrus is scared for his life and jaden is trying to save him.moreless

Somehow Prof.Viper generated the energy from Jaden and Jesse's duel for well I do not know why but he is going to keep doing it by creating I think something called disclosere (sorry about my spelling) duels and that measures your dueling spirit if you do not have alot in a duel you will go down a dorm if it happens again expulsion thats bad so then Viper asks Axel to duel well oviously Jaden and tells him to remember what his father told him which was that if you accept a mission then no turning back so he gets Syrus and holds him captive so Jaden will duel him TV-kid offmoreless

After seeing the energy jaden and jesse expelled, Viper orders his pet, Axel Brody to duel Jaden, and make him fight as hard as possible. Even if it costs Axel the duel...moreless

While this episode is an average episode, it started off just a little bit boring. The duel itself doesnt happen till later on and it lasts just minutes. However, this episode does have some comical moments such as jaden asking if a prodigee is a card, and syrus gets hung up on a tree by Axel. The duel itself has got off to a fairly good start, but having to wait untill next week is a little annoying considering nothing happened this week. Syrus is also starting to show a little doubt about his abilities, which i know is going to lead somewhere. Not going to tell you about that yet, just wait untill the right episode. :)moreless
