Yu-Gi-Oh!

Show Summary

Yu-Gi-Oh! (Uncut) is Yu-Gi-Oh! with the original soundtrack, the original scripts and no edits!
Yu-Gi-Oh! is a Japanese anime series which is based on the magna series by Kazuki Takahashi.
In 2001, 4Kids began to translate the anime series into english. But in doing so, they removed scenes and rewrote some scripts because they were deemed inappropriate for US children.
In 2004, it was annouced that Yu-Gi-Oh! Uncut DVD's would be in production and on November 19th, the first two DVD's in the series were released.
But shortly before the release of the fourth Yu-Gi-Oh! Uncut DVD, Yu-Gi-Oh! Uncut Vol. #04: Red-Eyes Black Dragon, it was announced that the production of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Uncut DVD's had been delayed indefinitely.
There have been rumors that Yu-Gi-Oh! Uncut will be airing on television, but there has yet to be an announcement of any kind.

  • I love the game, I like the show

    8.7
Not so bad at all. I give a high rating because I really really love the card game. Usually, another animation's card game is just a complementary stuff. But in this show. The card game is everything.

I didn't all episodes of this show. But because this is 'uncut' show, it means the show is not too different with the manga. I already have almost the manga. The storyline is like another japanesse show. Friendship, spirit, big dream, and heroic story hold most scenes. Then, some materials of this show based on Egypt's culture. But the culture isn't too deep going on the story. The main aspect is still like I said before... the battle.

Oh,yeah. I remember something. I heard Takahashi Kazuki sensei likes RPG games. So, if you like RPG games, you'll like this show too

Overall result : very imaginative. But nothing special.moreless
  • To be honest,I only liked season 1,but every other season uncut can have their moments

    8.0
Well,I don't like the card game.I happen to like the first season where it wasn't all about the cardgame,no painfully obvious edits,at least they touched up the voice acting, for once 4kids did something right by releasing their WORSTdub in uncut, unchanged, unedited, all orignal form. They used what made the show great in Japan for once!No editing of the labels thinking kids will go "Oh no reading!" they finally gave us the full story,no plot holes, and some details we never knew such as Yugi's Mom who was edited out of the english version for no reason, and for once we don't hear the words "Shadow Realm" I would like to see GX come uncut in english soon.Sadly I am in the minorty of big anime fans who cann tolerate this.TBH this is thhe only YuGiOh series I actually enjoymoreless
  • Better than the one 4kids did!

Well, I must say, I like the DUB of YGO too, but the uncut is just so much better! I wish another company dubbed YGO so they left all the scenes they cut out in! The show would be so much better then.moreless
  • this show was great

    10
this is the classic version of yugioh without four kids dubbing it. it was not airing. then they sold the first three dvds. the fourth one was put on the market. it was never given out because uncut was competing with the dubbed. rumor is it will come out again when they release the last of dawn of the duel. i think it might compete with gx. so we would just get three volumes out and then the fourth would be put on the market. then taken off. the original is not off yet. they did not finish waken the dragons and they skipped virtual world!moreless
  • 4Kids has done something right, for once. Unfortunetly they don't do it right, but at least they tried. But all that is delivered is a better dub.

    6.4
I started to watch this with very high expectations. And I had good reason to have them. My number one favorite anime would finally be getting what it deserved. And then I watched it. I've watched the first volume. No please there.

The first DVD comes with the same dub voices as before, all except Mai which sounds different. There are no extras in this. You get English and Japanese as language choices, on and off subtitles, and some commercials. Wait did I say subtitles? I meant dubtitles. Thats right its not even subbed properly. You get what you pay for.moreless
