Episode Summary

EDIT
With all three elemental guardians assembled, it seems the Paradox brothers are unbeatable with their new Gate Guardian, a Trinity monster in the same class as Exodia. Nevertheless, Yugi and Joey are relentless in their battle to win entrance to Pegasus's castle. Turn after turn Yugi and Joy just barely manage to survive the attacks of Gate Guardian. Eventually, after summoning the Red Eyes Black Skull Dragon, they manage to pull off a win, but now they have to decide which door to take to get out, which is the right one?moreless

This Is an AWESOME EPISODE!!!!, I just Love It, and also Maximillion Pegasus is still my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh Character, because he's AWESOME!!!!!, and I hope that someday I'll get a chance to meet Darren Dunstan In Person.
  • Part 3..

    7.4
Double Trouble Duel (3) Is not that much more interesting then the parts 1 and 2 but atleast it's the last part. Things seem very bad for Joey and Yami but they won't give up. Well... they still duel and sooner or later they find a way to defeat the Paradox brothers. When they do defeat the brothers they still have to guess the door but they have no idea which door it is. Then Yami takes a coin and spins it and somehow figures out that both the brothers are lying and if they chose the correct door then they would switch doors and say that its the wrong door though I have no idea what he did with the coin thing...Meanwhile Kaiba finds Mokuba but Pegasus traps his soul in a card and said that the only way he can get him back is by beating Pegasus but can only duel pegasus if he defeats Yugi. Well the episode ends. This episode was still kind of boring but it was better than the other 2 episodes. I give it 7.4.moreless

This was a pretty good episode. It just happened to be the very first Yu-Gi-Oh episode i watched. I really enjoyed and started to watch it more often. At first I thought it was a complete copy off of Pokemon and Digimon. In this episode Yugi and Joey duel the best tag team duelist. Joey being the rookie, manages to stay in the game to help Yugi and himself. Joey summons his most powerful card and combines it with yugi's monster and the two manage to win the duel. Gate Gardian was a sweet monster. The ending of the episode was hard to understand though.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • Yugi wins four star chips and Joey wins two, giving them both ten.

    • Despite the fact that Mokuba had no physical injuries, he was unconscious and Seto was unable to revive him. A catatonic state seems typical of all who've had their souls stolen or sealed away.

    • The combined 900 points Joey took from the Paradox brothers should've given Black Skull Dragon 4100.

    • In the manga Yugi says that there are there are four possibilities about the doors the Paradox Brothers guard:

      1) The left door is correct
      2) The right door is correct
      3) Both doors are correct
      4) Neither door is correct

As a result the Paradox Brothers give Yugi's non-dueling friends 5 minutes to search for a third exit. While searching Bakura's Millennium Ring tells him that as it is a thief if Bakura puts the Ring on he can easily find the third exit.

    • Monster Tamer doesn't have any sort of effect, meaning that it could neither raise Dungeon Worm's attack nor allow para to control the worm for his turn.

    • There is no such a thing as dueling in a labyrinth. A Labyrinth wall card is just a monster 0ATK, 3000DEF.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Joey: All right, Bozo Brothers, try this on for size, the Red-Eyes Black Dragon.
Yugi: And with the power of my Polymerization card, I'll combine Joey's Red-Eyes with my Summoned Skull.
Para and Dox: Ugh! A combo!
      Yugi: You now face...
Joey: The supreme Black Skull Dragon!

    • Joey: A rule? Oh no!
Dox: Oh yes! And the rule states that the labyrinth is a no-fly zone!
Joey: Aw nuts. My Red-Eyes can only move by flight. These rules stink.

    • Joey: Heh, beat you at your own game!
      Yugi: Both of them!

    • Dox: That swordsman started nothing before he left choaking.
