  • Another great installment in the Yugioh series!

This still remains my favorite Yugioh episode ever! I just love the whole story line, and all the drama! It's one thrill after another: the Pharaoh finds Yugi's soul, Yugi forces him into a duel and becomes evil, the Pharaoh is forced to face the reality of what he did, and then must hurt the person he was trying to protect and save, in order to save himself. As corny as it may sound, I still cry every time I see that episode. I know a lot of people think this episode was "cheesy" and "sucked" or they think it was "sappy", but those people were totally missing the point of the whole story. The lesson it was trying to teach, is that people make mistakes, and as hard as it is to face those mistakes, sometimes we really have to look back at what we've done, and face the truth, no matter how much it hurts. The Pharaoh made a mistake, and he paid a terrible price for it. As hard as it was to face Yugi the way he did, it still had to be done. So again, I loved this episode, and I think it was one of the best episodes in the series!
  • Worst. Episode. Ever.

Yami's my fave character in this entire franchise, and after watching this episode, Yugi became my second least fave (behind Kaiba)! I don't care what he was trying to do for him! Seeing him treat Yami that way, then revealing that he lied about it the whole time without even apologizing pissed me off! One day, I remember watching some episode of GX, which I greatly dislike for the most part, and I don't remember much of it, but Jaden was dueling some teacher of his who was apparently 'evil', but then at the end of the episode, he was happy Jaden won and apologized for doing whatever he had to do. Would that have been SO difficult for Yugi to do?!

A couple years after the dubbed episode aired, I stumbled upon a subbed Japanese version of it, where Yugi was ten billion times nastier! I seriously cried (not out of enjoyment) and kept stopping the episode it was so horrible, but my curiosity got the better of me. Yami was already beating himself up and what Yugi did was completely unecessary imo! What he did was what I consider 'adding insult to injury'!

(Sorry I rambled on so much!)
  • This is one duel that must happen but it makes you want to cry the whole way!

Atem is killing himself for losing Yugi soul. He had made it his duty and responiablity that he would not let anything ever happen to Yugi and he failed. It didn't matter that the SoO makes a person evil it was still his choice to play the thing in the first place. Even though he has defeat the evil inside him he knows that for the rest of his life wether on Earth or in the Spirit world he has to live with the blood and dirt soiling his hands form that one choice. I can't belive Yugi would ever act this way. I've got this epsoide saved on my Youtube account and I will tell you I cry each and every time. They do care very deeply for one another. If anything ever happen to the other? well the world would be doomed!
  • Trying to come to terms with what he's done, Yami tries to find Yugi's spirit, and finds himself dueling against his 'other half'.

It's a real shame the 'Doom Saga/Waking the Dragons' wasn't part of the original manga, since it would be interesting to see duels like this one in print.
I mean, it was freaky enough for Yami to be dueling against Yugi, but having Yugi use the Seal of Orichalcos? That REALLY creeped me out! The rest of the episode wasn't much, but this one duel defiently made it worthwile.
  • no duels in this episode

As the train to Florida crashes, Dartz senses that the Pharaoh is being shielded from him and sends Rafael to find him. Meanwhile, Yami Yugi and Téa wake up to find themselves being cared for by a small girl, Chris, and her wolf friend Skye. Meeting up with Chris\'s grandfather, Ironheart, Yami Yugi is lead to an ancient site where he will hopefully be able to forgive himself for what happened to Yugi. However as the Pharoah and Yugi meet face to face, the reunion does not look set to be a happy one. Yugi insists on dueling against his other self, which confuses Yami Yugi. He\'s even more confused after Yugi plays the Seal of Orichalcos soon after the duel begins! Yugi wants Yami Yugi to pay for what he did by having his soul sealed up too. He then uses the same strategy used by Yami Yugi in his duel against Rafael by using Catapult Turtle to fire monsters, but the Pharaoh activates Divine Wind, reflecting the attack back at Yugi. But even as he disappears, Yugi smiles, because he knows that Yami Yugi was able to defeat the darkness of his heart.
  • I thought this was a really great episode!

Ironheart helps Yami find Yugi! Yugi forces Yamui into a duel. Yugi plays the seal of orichalcos. He turns evil! Yami defaets Yugi1 Yami starts crying. Yugi said that was step 1 on curing Yami's darkness! It was awesome! Then I also was shocked when Yami and Kaiba found out Dartz summoned their friends in the A Duel With Dartz saga! I had to put that because I needed at leat 50 words in my review!
  • A very sad episode for me.

When I saw this episode, I was all choked up when Yugi and Yami dueled each other. The ending was very powerful. When Yami promised he would rescue Yugi, I was crying a lot, I thought this was a great, and sad episode for Yami. Yami proved the he was a true friend and a true hero in this episode.
