Episode Summary

EDIT
Yugi and his friends have given up their search for Mokuba, and they go to find more people to duel. However, Mai is doing very well for herself. She has won 8 star chips, and when Rex Raptor returns to duel her, he has only 5 star chips. Mai tells him that she will duel him, but only after he beats Joey in a duel. Rex sees this as an easy win and agrees. Rex's dinosaurs are too powerful and the back Joey in a corner. Even Joey's Flame Swordsman can't beat them! However Joey manages to gain a slight lead when playing his Swamp Battleguard, and Tristan's Lava Battleguard, and destroying Rex's Serpent Night Dragon with the monster duo. What Joey doesn't know is that Rex has a special surprise in his deck!moreless

Another great episode!!! In this Joey duels Rex Raptor. Yugi, Joey, Tea and Tristan still can't find Mokuba so they give up looking for him. They go find other people to duel. Meanwhile Mai has 8 starchips and Rex Raptor, comes along with only 5 chips, wanting to duel her. He wants to duel her cuz of what she did to him on the ship. Mai refuses to duel him. She is mad cuz she lost to Joey but then she tells Rex that she'll duel him only if he defeats Joey. Rex agrees thinking that beating Joey would be very easy. when the 2 find Joey and challenge him for a duel, he accepts but then Mai tells him that he will have to duel without Yugi's help. I can't remember when but Tristan gets angry at Joey and runs off. Ok. so they start dueling. Joey summons Baby Dragon and Rex summons Two Headed King Rex which defeats Baby Dragon. Yugi tells Tea to watch Joey while he goes and checks on Tristan. they continue to battle and summon monsters. Meanwhile Yugi goes to Tristan. He's like washing his face. Tristan tells Yugi that he wants him to help Joey but Yugi tells him that they have to trust and believe in Joey. Ok...so they continue to battle. joey puts down time Wizard but Mai thinks that Joey won't know how to use it without Yugi's help. Rex destroys one of Joey's monsters and then Joey summons Flame Swordsman which keeps destroying Rex's dino-monsters. Soon Rex summons serpent knight dragon and destroys Joey's monsters. Joey draws Lava battleguard which is Tristan's card. theres a flashbach next about how Tristan saved Joey from these people. Joey realizez that Tristan is a true friend. He looks down at his friends including Yugi and Tristan. Ok so Lava battleguard is related to Joey's card Swamp Battleguard and like lookout for each other like best friends and deflect Rex's attacks but then Rex sends out some card and tells Joey to prepare to be wiped out....TO BE CONTINUED.

Ok. I like this episode. It was great and so I give it an 8!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Mai says that Dinosaur cards are weak towards Fire Type Monsters yet none of them had effects that made them weak towards fire type attacks.

    • When Joey plays the Flame Swordsman you can clearly see that it is a Fusion Monster. Yet he plays it as a Normal Monster and this continues through out the series.

    • Featured Duel: Joey vs. Rex

    • Rex manages to destroy both Lava Battleguard and Swamp Battleguard at the same time. This would be impossible, as neither cards' effect states that both are destroyed at the same time. Plus, the attacks of both of these mosnters is far too low ad combined together. What gives with that?

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Mai: Oh Harpies, give that monster our kind of makeover. Attack!

    • Mai: (unenthusiastically) Wow, that was a real challenge. It ranks right up there with doing my nails.

    • Mai: How are you, Joseph? Glad to see me?
      Joey: Ecstatic.

    • Mai: (to Rex) Funny I thought I'd already knocked you on your Jurassic butt!
Rex: Think what you want, you're about to get stomped!
Mai: You think I'm gonna waste another minute on a peabrain like you? Beat it, Dino-Breath! Shoo! Shoo!

    • Joey: I can't believe you reduced yourself to being Mai's attack dog!
Rex: Least I'm no dueling monkey!
      Joey: (flaming with anger) Rrrrr!
Rex: You never leave a baby unattended, and you're about to find out why! Two-Headed King Rex, ATTACK!
Mai: You don't get it, do you?! Little Joey's already made the one fatal mistake that'll cost him this entire duel! And that was ever agreeing to this match in the first place!

    • Joey: (after his Flame Swordsman beats Rex's dino) Heh, looks like I found the secret to beatin' your dinos! Hope you're not too SORE about it! Get it? Sore? Dino-sore!

    • Tristan: (To Mai and Rex) We're sorry. Little Joey won't be coming out to duel today. Maybe when he grows up we can arrange a play-date.
