This is the first episode you see the letters LP above a character's life points when someone duels.
A running gag this season is Téa saying "I need some female friends" whenever the boys do something stupid. This also rubs off onto the first episode of the spin-off series "Capsule Monsters". Tea did have one female friend in the original series but never appears in this series.
(Rebecca holds Yugi's right arm as they look at the lake)
Rebecca: Isn't this romantic, Yugi?
(Tea frowns and moans)
Tea: All right, that's enough vacationing for me.
Duke: When is your flight home anyway? Someone did make plans, right?
Tea, Joey, and Tristan: Uh...
Rebecca: What's wrong?
Joey: Pegasus flew us here! We can't afford a return flight!
Duke: Oh, no!
Tristan: You're kiddin' me! And ya didn't think about this before today?!
Joey: Obviously it didn't occur to you, either!
Yugi: Now what?
Tristan: Way to plan ahead, Joey! Now we're all stranded!
Tea: Just peachy.
Rebecca: Looks like we'll get some quality time together after all.
(she affectionately smiles at Yugi)
Tea: I wouldn't count on that, short-stuff!
Rebecca: There he is!
Tea: I was worried about you!
(Rebecca squeals and laughs as she tackles and hugs Yugi to the grass)
(Tea frowns)
Rebecca: I was even more worried about you than Tea was!
Yugi: Thanks, I think. Can we get up now, please? I can't breathe!
Tea: Come on, you 2 lovebirds. Everyone's waiting.
Rebecca: Let's go!
Yugi: Uh, sure...
Rebecca: But I get to hold his hand, Tea.
Joey: Ya know, Hawkins, for an ol' stuff shirt, you make a mean dish o' pasta.
Tea: Joey!
Professor Hawkins: There's a lot more where that came from if you kids want to stay.
Yugi: Huh? Thanks a lot, Professor, but we should all be getting back home.
Rebecca: What?! How can you leave when we haven't even gone out on 1 single date yet?!
Duke: Beck is right. Well, not about the date part.
Pharaoh: It seems like every time we restore peace to the world, a greater evil is waiting for us.
(Everyone wakes up to find Yugi gone)
Joey: He took off.
Tristan: I hate it when he does that.
Zigfried: (about Kaiba) I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself. Leave that to me.
Téa: (to Joey, Tristan, and Duke) Don't you guys ever get tired of being tired?
Joey: Course, that's why we need a nap.
Joey: As we say in the business, it's time to duel.
First appearances of Leon Wilson and Zigfried Lloyd.
Cut from the US version are interior shots of the castle, where a woman plays harp while a man lounges in his bath. A servant, addressing the bathing man as "Zigfried," comes to tell Zigfried he's received new mail. Zigfried gets up from his bath, puts on a robe, and walks toward the edge of the bath.
From this episode onward, Mokuba Kaiba is voiced by Caroline Lawson.
The show is renamed Yu-Gi-Oh! Grand Championship in this episode
This saga did not occur in the manga
