Episode Summary

EDIT
Things do not look good for Yugi as the duel computer pounds his weak dragon cards to submission. Kaiba finds out about the situation and rushes to Kaiba land to help. Meanwhile, the hacker who set all this up is walking to his jet prepared to go to Kaiba land as well. Back at the duel, Yami Yugi draws the card he gave to Rick earlier, Heart of the Underdog. Using it, he is able to bring out the power of Rick's dragon deck and win the duel, causing the doors to open again. At about that time, Kaiba arrives and tells them where to register for the KC Grand Championship. That night, the gang goes to a hotel reception where all the other contestants are. There, they meet Leon again, and a duelist who seems to have a crush on Yugi named Vivian Wong. Also, the hacker arrives and introduces him to Kaiba as Zigfried Lloyd. Finally, all the contestants arrive and Roland announces their names to the crowd. Then he explains that whoever emerges as the winner of the tournament will gain the right to duel Yugi Muto for the title of the world's best duelist.moreless

  • Yugi has to duel with an amatuer deck!

    9.0
When the Kaiba Domes Main Computer (LV.5) Battle Yugi, while Yugi is dueling with a amatuer dragon deck! Who will win?

This was a special episode to me, it shows that a card that you give someone can save your butt from being trapped in a dome forever!

Yugi was good with the kids dragon deck and I really didn't think that deck was all that bad, it needed some improvement but besides that it was good! The staretegys Yugi used with this deck was interesting. He used some weak dragons and some actually really good dragons *cough*LusterDragon*cough* and that 'Heart of the Underdog' card was amazing! I even have one and I might just give it to my friend (he has all monsters in deck) and that's special to me!moreless

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Joey: (annoyed) Everyone else here seems to thinks that I reminds you of this underdog.
Yugi: They do, huh? Well, let me think of the best way to put this, Joey. That card mades me think of you because even the odds are against you, you always pull through. (Joey is surprised)
Tristan: I can see your business card now. Joey Wheeler: Executive Underdog.
      Joey: (angry) Hey! Watch It!

    • Announcer:...And our next contestant is Joey Wheeler, our overwhelming underdog!
Joey: (Making a pose) Oh Yeah!!
Just then, he realize that he idiotically made a mistake and fainted.
Joey: (Get's up angrily) HEY! How about some respect here!?

    • Joey: (after the Pharaoh defeats the computer) The good guys win again!
Téa: Funny how it always seems to work out that way, isn't it?

    • Joey: (annoyed) About that Underdog card, you said it reminds you of someone.
Pharaoh: I did? Yes, well... (to Yugi) A little help here.
      (they switch places)
Yugi: Oh, that's real mature, Pharaoh!

    • Vivian: Yugi Moto?! I'd know that adorable spiky hair anywhere!
      Yugi: Thanks, I guess.

    • Kaiba: Any duelist late for registration will be disqualified. Mokuba, make sure Wheeler's late. (he turns and walks away)
Joey: Hey! I know an insult when I hear one! Look at me when I'm yelling at ya'!

  • NOTES (5)

    • Cut from the US version is the shot of Yami looking around, surprised, when he hears that he's to duel the winner of the tournament. No one had told him that before

    • The shot of Sinister Serpent biting Yami's arm is obscured in the US version.

    • The shot of Petit Dragon being sliced in half by Airknight Parshath's sword is obscured in the US version.

    • Cut from the US version is a scene showing Zigfried watching the same scenes from the Kaiba Dome on his laptop. He notices that Yugi Moto, the one who defeated Kaiba, is there, and thinks that it's interesting. Lifting a white rose, he thinks that it will be a preliminary entertainment. Then he hears a knock on his door, and tells his servants to come in. The maids remove Zigfried 's robe and dress him in his ruffly shirt and suit.

    • When the boys discover the tv cameras in the Japanese version, Tristan and Duke are saying hi to Serenity, which explains why Duke was acting so nonchalant and why Joey tackled Tristan.
