EDIT
Crushing Revenge
AIRED:
Kurama is unconscious, and getting beaten to death by Baken. The announcer Koto tries to give a 10-count to stop the fight, but Baken ignores her and kicks her out of the ring. Just as Baken is about to kill Kurama, the team captain, Risho, tells him to stop. As it turns out, Yusuke was about to fire his spirit gun right at Baken if he had tried to kill Kurama. Kurama then is tossed out of the ring. Baken is declared the winner. Yusuke then gets onto the ring to confront him. Baken uses a technique built from his sweat to cover the entire arena in mist, so Yusuke won't be able to see now. Baken delivers a few blows, but the barely harm Yusuke, and he then fires a spirit gun through the arena, causing the mist to vanish. With Baken wide open, Yusuke delivers a punch to his ribs. Before he can cause any more damage though, Baken pleads for Yusuke to grant him mercy, saying he was caught up in the heat of battle when he beat up Kurama. Yusuke actually believes him for a few seconds, causing Baken to smash a rock into his head. However, this only irritates him more, and he then breaks about every single bone in Baken's body with a few well-placed hits(go Yusuke!). After making sure Kurama's okay, the next match is set to begin: Yusuke vs. Jin. Yusuke and Jin wind up getting along, and Koto soon tells them to begin. Jin eventually lands the first punch. Yusuke tells him if he keeps hitting like that, the fight will be interesting. To be continued...moreless

    Again, vengeance is sweet.

Bakken truly got what he had coming and it was just as sweet for me as I'm sure it was for Yusuke. It's nice to see him really able to dish it out without worrying about killing the demon. Moving on to Jin - I love that they introduce characters who clear the air before their fight. It's easy for people to get caught up in the emotions and be carried by them. It takes a genuine person to pause and let that go before moving on.

And it's a great message to the viewer - something for them to strive toward in their own lives.moreless
  • Yusuke fights the cowardly Bakken.

After hitting Kurama a few times Bakken goes to finish him off but Reesho stops him because he sees that Yusuke is prepared to kill Bakken with his Spirit Gun if he goes to kill Kurama. Bakken throws Kurama out of the ring as instructed by Reesho and the fight ends. Against Yusuke Bakken uses his sweat to make a mist cover but Yusuke blows it away with his Spirit Gun and then owns Bakken after he fake begs for forgiveness. Next is Gin the wind master who after taking in some air, flies above and back down and punches Yusuke.moreless
  • I'm so happy Bakken got what he deserved!

    9.1
Bakken is continuing to pummel the unconscious Kurama. Even when Koto tries to take a ten count and end the match, he just picks Kurama back off the ground and starts bashing him mercilessly. Finally, Yusuke readies himself to fire his Spirit Gun and kill Bakken if he continues what he is doing. Bakken gives in a throws Kurama out of the ring...

Now it's time for Yusuke to give him a taste of his own medicine. Yusuke easily beats the crap out of him, and avoids his every attack. Even after a few cheap shots Bakken goes down, but not before Yusuke breaks half of the bones in his body.

This is a great episode. Mostly because it was great to see Bakken go down!moreless
  • I was very happy to see yusuke beat the crap out of Baken.............

    9.0
This episode is about Yusuke absolutely crushing Baken after baken beats down an unconcious Kurama

The episode begins with the tournament commity ruling that Kurama must continue to fight, but he is unconcious. Baken takes advantage of this, ut is forced to spare Kurama since Yusuke was about to kill him..... Yusuke, extremely mad, is frustrated by bakens mist. He eventually crushes baken though, and knocks him out cold. The next match: Jinn vs Yusuke!

A great episode overall, as usual, and Baken got what was coming to him. So I was satisfied and the next episode is great as well.....moreless
  • Well, at least we see Baken get beat down.

    8.4
Kurama is planning on fighting three matches in a row with his third one against Baken. However, he really didn't do it by choice; since he's unconscious and in the ring, he was automatically the next fighter up. Baken cowardly beats him up, holding him up to reset the count down. But Heia and Yusuke were prepared to unleash their Spirit Gun and Dragon of the Darkness Flame before Baken is able to smash Kurama's face. Kurama loses in a fight that shouldn't have been, but a fresh Yusuke tags in. Baken creates a mist out of his sweat, and attacks Yusuke, but his punches seem to have no effect. With his spirit gun, he blows the mist away, relentlessly breaking the bones in Baken's body.

The next fighter up is Jin, the wind master. The Spirit Detective's angry remains the same, but he becomes more cheerful as Jin starts joking around with him. Before the match even starts, Jin unleashes his wind power, blowing people away. He then flies into the sky, reflecting to himself peacefully before soaring into the ground like a jet, delivering a punch to Yusuke's face. It seems like Jin has a stronger punch than Baken, but Baken was an ass. It was quite pleasing to see him get his ass beat to the ground. The scene that displays his bones being broken was kind of funny and appreciative in a way. There's also a little character development for Jin, who seems like a rather easy going guy judging from how friendly he is to Yusuke before the fight. And how he admired the island's beauty was great itself.moreless
