Which do you like better out of the dubbed version and subbed version of YYH? I like both equally, but I saw a bit of the subbed, but that was good too. If I were to make a choice out of which version I like better, I'd say Dub. Let's compare the openings/endings first, and our opinions and what we would rate them, and then focus on them, and we can talk about them as our discussion goes on:

Dubbed Version of Hohomei no Bakudan:

I like the dub a whole lot better. The character voices are so well done! The english voice for Yusuke fits perfectly, Kuwabara has that... big guy type of voice that goes along with his idiotic (yet perfect) lines. Kurama doesn't sound like a girl, and Hiei has a great voice too (though his Japanese voice isn't bad, I must say). And the girls don't all have the same high and whinny voice.

Just to let you know, I've heard that Kurama's voice in the Japanese version is too describe his pure-hearted nature. I love the dub and sub equally...I just can't decide...It's Yu Yu Hakusho, and I love it, Subbed or dubbed...

Dub>>>Sub.... I really didn't like Kurama's voice, it felt very out of place. Kind of like Goku in the DBZ sub, he sounds like a little girl

Kenshin sounds even worse in the sub for RK . Just so you know, its common for many male roles to go to female voice actors, just because their voices will stay the same over a long period of time, as apposed to male voice actors, whose voices change a lot over time (a prime example of this would be Yusuke's voice actor, Nozomu Sasaki; in case you didn't notice, he plays Mello's voice in DN, but you would never be able to tell that he's the same VA who did Yusuke's voice, simply because his voice had changed so much over the years ).

As for me, I prefer the dubs over the subs, as far as YYH goes, however, the Japanese voice acting for YYH is not bad, IMO.

Hohomei no Bakudan: Subbed = Dubbed.

The Homework Never Ends: Subbed < Dubbed.

Sayonara Bye Bye: Subbed > Dubbed.

    Unbalanced Kiss: Subbed < Dubbed.

The Sun Will Shine Again: Subbed > Dubbed.

    Daydream Generation: Subbed < Dubbed.

Full Hohoemi no Bakudan: Subbed < Dubbed.

Series as a whole: I liked the dub better. I haven't the faintest why, but there was more of a connection with the characters in the FUNimation version. I think the voices actually fit the characters a bit better. But that's just me.

Again, I say the YYH subs are decent. YYH had it's glory in both sub and dub IMO. I agree with everything you just said there.

    Kurama's voice is decent. I'd rate it a 6.9.

Kurama's voice wasn't that bad, if you consider the fact that lots of male characters have feminine voices in the original Japanese/subbed versions of the show. If you thik about it, Kurama's voice could have been a lot worse, but it was at least tolerable, in comparison to may other feminine voices for male characters in anime (one prime example being Kenshin's voice, from the original Japanese version of the Rurouni Kenshin anime ) .

....yeah not that bad but I prefer Kurama's voice in English DUB. For the comparison in other... I'll choose Kurama's feminine voice over Goku's voice from the original Japanese version (If you hear Philippines dub...I bet you'll throw those two...in Phil dub all voices really fit in their personalities esp. in Dragonball Z and YYH)

WoW! Not long ago you said it was sub = dub... now it's dub >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> sub ?

It was only because I was surprised how good I thought the subbed YYH handled this scene:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83HYS9C7iiU
IDK why I said dub = sub...probably because it's Yu Yu Hakusho...
