A nice episode to stall before the final round of the tournament begins.
Koenma and Sakyou step up for their teams and the fact Genkai isn't present is glossed over. There's really not much to the episode beyond that. Cartoon Network managed to leave the series off at this point for multiple runs before continuing, which really makes this episode stick out in my mind as annoying.

Kurama seems to be unusually unprepared in this episode. He did not take the potion at an earlier time, so that he would have transformed into his Yoko form when he stepped up to fight Karasu.

At the beginning of this scene, Yusuke is training with his spirit energy. While he's doing so his entire body appears blue, which makes sense, because his body is surrounded by blue spirit energy. But after he finishes his training, his eyes remain blue throught the rest of the scene, instead of brown.

Kuwabara: Aha! It just so happens I know a secret remedy that can cure all kinds of sickness. Let me think: first you hang upside down for a while, then you eat five large lemons, drink some two day old tea with pepper in it, and wrap your body in seaweed. -
Kuwabara: (to Yusuke) My totally rad bad guy slicin' and dicin' mega awesome super sword!

Hiei: So tell me. What's it like living in a constant haze of stupidity?
Kuwabara: Daahh, I've had enough of your lip, half-pint! -
Hiei: Do you think it's possible for to shut up?
Yusuke: (calmly) Hey, Hiei.
Kuwabara: Hey you really shouldn't sneak up on a guy who's holding the world's most powerful sword! (looks at Hiei's bloody arm) AHG! EWW! What the heck happened to your arm?!
Hiei: (looking at his arm) It wouldn't obey when I gave it a specific command so I decided it needed to be punished.
Kuwabara: Ha ha ha (thinking) Ok, he's weird. (out loud) Too much information for me.
