  • Very Funny

This was another great episode. I really loved this episode because it was funny. My favorite part was when Kiyo was going to throw Zatch throw the window but ending up throwing both of them threw the window. I also liked Zatch's love of fish popsicles. I must say that Reycom is a cool mamodo and I like his freezing powers, they make him a good enemy for the beginning of the series. Overall, this was a great episode with both funnny scenes and great action. The humor of this episodes was great and this is one of the best episodes I've seen so far!moreless
  • Decent episode.

There was one thing in this episode that kept me from really liking it. That one thing was the fact that Reycom's human partner was holding what looked like a toy gun. In the the original version he had a real gun. The stupid gun in the English dub was blue and had some kind of pump on it like a water gun. That makes me sick that a gun would be edited out. If you are going to take out the gun then why not just use a baseball bat? I mean really, it is so dumb. Anyway, every other aspect of the episode was fine.moreless
  • great episode

Kiyo's mind keeps returning to his first battle with Zatch as he continuously fails to dicipher the Red Book. He is amazed at Zatch's abilities, though that gets thrown aside when Zatch displays his wide variety of backpack outfits. As he returns to school with the little mamodo, the team finds a guy with a mamodo of his own, this one with the power to freeze anything, stealing a car from a hapless victim. Kiyo ignores the crime, marveling at both the "kid" and Blue Book while the guy gets away. The crook turns back up at the bank to hold it up while Susie is there for a withdrawal. At the same time, Zatch shoots off his mouth about Kiyo at school, almost getting them into trouble again. Kiyo ignores it and walks away. Along the way home, they catch a news report in a store window about the hold up. Kiyo instantly becomes torn between helping Susie and leaving the authorities to handle it. With nagging from Zatch, he finally decides to help her and, with Zatch along for the ride, powers his way over to said bank on his bike. Kiyo's plan to get past the police baracade doesn't go as planned, announcing their presense earlier than intended. His plan to quickly take the crook down predictably fails, but he tries to make up with a new plan to resolve it. Sadly, that fails, too, when his hiding place is revealed. He tries again, but when he casts the spell, it all falls apart and the crook threatens to take the Red Book and Zatch as prizes. They resist, and Zatch becomes encased in a block of ice too hard for a human to break. Zatch's life becomes ransom for the book, but again, Kiyo refuses to give it up, remembering Zatch's earlier insistence that he not give up the book for anything. The crook threatens the lives of the hostages, and Kiyo decides to give up the book anyways, but this action causes the first spell to work at last, willing Zatch to thaw free and blast the crook and the strange ice momodo out of the bank. It was then that Kiyo learns the secret of the Red Book: strong emotions. The show of selfless heroism produced by the team of Zatch and Kiyo has earned them the respect of the hostages and more admiration from Suzy. But after they deal with the bewildered police, a strange woman and her dark mamodo reveal that Zatch is responsible for the appearence of the mamodos, while Kiyo reflects upon past efforts and realizes that more of the ancient book's text has been revealed to him.moreless
  • Zatch and Kiyo save the day!

This episode is really cool. Originally, in the manga, Reycom and his book owner was Zatch and Kiyo's first enemies. But in the anime, Hyde is Zatch's and Kiyo's first enemy. I like this episode because it is the first time Zatch and Kiyo use their powers for good. They actually save people's lives. This is also the first time Kiyo relizes the bond between book keepers and demons (mamodo). It is funny how Zatch thinks that Kiyo did something with the lighting to make electricity shock the guys. Zatch still does not know that it is him making the lightning.moreless
