Episode Summary

Springfield is going to give an award to the town's oldest man, but when that guy dies, Mr. Burns gets the award instead. He decides to get a check-up at the Mayo Clinic with Smithers. When he leaves, he leaves the Simpson family as caretakers of his mansion. Homer starts living the life of a billionaire, but of course, he is highly destructive. He wants to throw a box social at the mansion for all his friends, but Marge pleads with him not to do it. He tries to get a few kegs for it from Moe, but local law prohibits the sale of alcohol before 2 PM. He cannot wait, so he takes Burns' yacht out to international waters, where no laws apply. Pirates see them whooping it up aboard the yacht and they rob them, put them into nets and then try to drown them. Fortunately they just float in the net back home. Meanwhile at the Mayo Clinic, Mr. Burns is told he has every disease known and unknown to man, it's just that they are all existing and trying to get through the door together in something the doctor's call "Three Stooges Syndrome". The doctors do warn him that a stiff breeze could kill him. Back in Springfield, Burns is not too upset about losing his yacht and the Simpson family returns to living their "simple" life.

    A Better offering hide show

Mr. Burns is the town's oldest man. So he decides to go to the Mayo Clinic to test to see if he has diseases. He of course leaves the Simpsons in charge of his mansion. Homer realizes Burns will come back someday soon, so he and Bart throw a party out in the sea, where anything is legal. Oh no. Sounds fun, and of course what could be more fun then pirates?!

Mr. Burns learns he has every disease known to man. He returns home thinking he is indestructible. Back home, Homer is sad he is not rich and complains about it over the end credits.

A decent episode, one of the better ones from season 11. Not the best, but not the worst, in the middle

Mr. Burns goes to see if he is in good health, leaving Homer in charge of his mansion, and allowing Homer to expirence what its like to be a millionaire. hide show

Let me start off by saying this was just a wonderful episode. It was very well written, and the gags in the episode were priceless kudos to the writers. Anyway, it was funny to see Homer get hijacked by pirates from hong cong while throwing a party on the yacht, and also to see him teasing the Coast Guard because they were in international waters. This is just one of those episodes of the Simpsons where I think pretty much anyone who enjoys good jokes can appreciate this episode. I would recommend watching this episode because you will not be disappointed. A

This is why we love the Simpsons; it combines great humor with a great and common day plot. hide show

After receiving an award for being Springfield's oldest citizen, Mr. Burns decides to take a trip with Mr. Smithers to the Mayo Clinic for a complete check-up. While he's away, he asks the Simpson family to look after his mansion. Right away, Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa begin to act like snotty millionaires, sliding down the banister, riding a horse down the hallway, scratching their butts with the good silverware and so on. All goes well until Homer decides to throw a party aboard Mr. Burns' prized yacht, Gone Fission, and invites Moe, Barney, Lenny and Carl along. Meanwhile, at the Mayo Clinic, Mr. Burns goes through a series of painful and invasive tests that yield some pretty shocking results: It turns out that Mr. Burns has every disease known to man and a few new ones that haven't been discovered yet. Luckily, all of the diseases cancel each other out and Burns remains the picture of health, sort of. Back on the boat, Homer and his buddies are taken hostage by a group of pirates who throw them overboard. As luck would have it, the group survives and Homer returns to his family just as Burns returns home. Marge and Lisa have cleaned the house so there is no evidence of the Simpson family's messy stay and everything goes back to normal.

The mansion and the yacht hide show

There’s lot of gags one after another, In the opening scene; Springfield Pride Awards, which featured Britney Spears (wasn’t doing much expect giving death kisses) ; Springfield’s oldest citizen Chapman’s clips, funny but intentioned lines such as ‘Grammy is not something worth winning’, kiss of death of the black widow which is referring to Britney, the person who donated the most blood which goes to Marge. The next one which tells about the main plot; Simpsons living in Mr.Burns Mansion. Instantly we can figure out what’s going to happen, Homer creating chaos to Mr Burns mansion, well he does to some point with Bart and Lisa joining him. It’s turned to a different angle when Homer invites his friends to a party in Burnsie’s yacht until they were attacked by pirates. a line from the pirate ‘hidden pirate Island a.k.a Hong Kong (good one). There’s funny moments in the entire episode . Mr. Burns’s checkup at Mayo Clinic was a cracker. Even though the main plot isn’t on the track which is supposed to (mansion to yacht), the well written gags / lines saved it.

Now this is a good episode. hide show

this episode was hilarious the whole way through from the first act with homer restanding up and homer basically saying that grammys weren't worth winning and the line across the screen plus the classic burns line "abra ca dava", pulling the speech from a dead guy.
the second act was even better, homer destroying the house and the dinner scene were great scenes aswell.
the final act with the boat scene was the icing on the top of a deliciously funny episode, i mean cake. the monkey knife fight was a great touch and mr burns thinking he's indestructable when in fact he's the complete opposite was hilarious.
there was not a dull scene or lame joke in the whole episode.
