Steve agrees and while on his way to meet his son, he runs into Jaime. They have an uneasy reunion that ends with Jaime throwing him through the window, and into his son. Although things between Steve and his son are a bit rough, Steve agrees to be at his son's first solo flight. While there, someting goes wrong and his son crashes. He is severely injured. The doctors say there's nothing that can be done. Steve asks Oscar to authorize Rudy Wells to operate on Michael and he'll accept the assignment. He'll be able to run faster than Steve or Jaime and his eye has a laser. Jaime, who's now a therapist, tries to help Michael deal with his changes. Steve, in the meantime, commences with the assignment and begins tracking the terrorists. He learns that the leader, Lyle Stenning, has escaped from prison. Later at the hospital, Michael and one of Jaime's patients is abducted. Rudy is also abducted. One of Jaime patients identifies one of the abductors as John Praiser, an OSI official.
